Damion Terry
Where do you think Terry fits in to our offense this year? I would love to see the kid get on the field in some capacity, as it just gives us another weapon. It's crazy to think how many targets we have on offense. No real super stars, just multiple guys that are consistent and can make plays.
Also, is it a safe bet Terry will be used on the scout team to mimic Mariota? I was thinking how that could be a big advantage for us. How many teams have a 6'3" 230 lb dual threat QB? I doubt Terry has Mariota's speed but I'm sure he can do a great job simulating their uptempo offense.

I'd imagine seeing him and RJ Shelton used heavily in the Keyshawn Martin role. They'll pull out a few wrinkles for him in the big games (Oregon, scum, Osu) I'm sure.
I swear, if I see them line him up in some sort of idiotic wildcat my head might explode.

Can you really call it wildcat with a qb lining up in shotgun? Might not actually be a bad move. Will he run? Pass? Lateral? I wouldn't mind it.

Technically, no, but you know exactly what I'm talking about with that dumbass wildcat play we have.

My guess is possible spot duty on the scout team (to your point a big game only) but he'll be spending the majority of his time working on his game package each week. He's going to play and he's going to run it some.

I agree. Or just put him in the slot and give the defense something to think about. Run him on the jet sweep with a run/pass option.

The one where they lined Le'Veon up in the shotgun and ran him into a wall? Yes, I remember that. I also recall that Le'Veon wasn't much of a throwing threat...

I'm praying that Cook and the defense put Terry in a position to get a lot of reps doing cleanup duty. That way if Cook jumps early for the NFL, Terry will have some experience.

The only time it really bothered me was the direct snap to Riley Bullough. You're basically running a fullback dive from 7 yards out against 47 men in the box.
I did like the play with Le'Veon where he sucked in the defense and threw over the top for a first down against Northwestern. It was the ugliest pass I've ever seen, but it worked.

So, if Terry lines up in the shotgun, you will be upset?

That's not good enough...Terry and TOC should get at least one series each in meaningful play this year in each game.

Cook at QB. Terry at Slot. TOC at WR. The defense won't know wtf to do.

Never know, but he looked kind of lost in the spring game.

I thought Terry was just a fairly mobile passing QB, not Michael Vick.

He's definitely not Vick, but he displayed pretty good burst and running instinct on his long TD run in the spring game. Obviously have to take that with a grain of salt, but I think he appears to be a better runner than Cook and TOC.

I think the Black Jesus will see mop up duty and they may put him in as a change of pace thing. I don't think you'll see him lineup with Cook on the field.

Which is why I'm curious where Terry fits into the offense, hence the OP. I think he's gonna be the #3 QB on the depth chart, but I hope we can get him on the field in some specialized packages as an athlete/decoy.

The fact that your posts remain uncensored should tell you how "lightened up" I am. I've made a simple request. You either will or won't honor it. I will react as necessary regardless of smartass replies.

I would prefer to see Cook leading the offense until the outcome of the game is decided. That's not to say that Terry should be holding a clipboard. When you have an athlete and playmaker like Terry you have to find a way to get him on the field in some capacity. It's going to be fun watching how they utilize him.

Re: Damion Terry
I swear that I read somewhere, since we only have 3 QB's, there is a pretty good chance the coaches aren't going to risk injuring Terry. If something were to happen to Cook, O'Conner will probably be the backup, making Terry the new #2. There are only 3 QB's on scholarship this year, Terry might get in, but probably less than what people want to see.
