I fear he will still be a liability on defense. I never thought he’d be anything more than a four minute very good sub for a starting guard. If he’s starting, I’m not sure our back court is that strong. He had a great game against eastern. That’s helpful for sure.

Every single team we play is going to come at him until he can prove he's not a liability - on both ends - and make them pay on Offense. That will dictate his minutes and if he can be a contributor or not. They will pressure him bringing the ball up and stay in his grill on Offense so he doesn't have any space to launch, and they will try to isolate him on D. It will be interesting to watch, he seems a lot more confident this year. He's going to get beaten occasionally on D. Needs to be able to shake it off, stay out of foul trouble and find a way to make them pay on the other end, whether it be hitting mid range jumpers, getting lost and finding open zones to shoot from, or finding teammates for easy buckets.

This is Izzo's fault. I just wonder why we can't throw a zone out there once in a while. Maybe run it for half of his minutes to help him out. Duke is not Eastern. also, he has not gotten any stronger since his freshman year in my opinion. Kid does not look like he gets into the weight room very much.

He is definitely stronger. I'm not trying to judge on 19 year old kids' bodies but have you seen the weight room pics the team posted? He was pretty much a twig in HS and freshman year, maybe 165. Guessing he's 185 or so now.
