The Gories got the same type groove. You can hear it in early White Stripes stuff...

I'd probably go with the MC5 (popular within the industry, but still underrated), The Von Bondies, and the Detroit Cobras, off the top of my head... all worthy of discussion.

Checked out a couple songs. Pretty cool actually. I like that type of music.

Yeah, MC5 and The Stooges as far as influence I think.

Yeah, lead singer Vinnie Dombrowski’s daughter in law is the head of womens basketball ops at MSU. His son was a great high school athlete. Great band.

I don't think Sponge is overrated. Rotting Piñata is certified gold, and Molly and Plowed got regular play across the county and on MTV for a while.

On a side note, Vinnie is doing some new stuff now that is awesome! He re-recorded Plowed and it is fantastic, maybe better than the original.

The band made zero off of piñata. Horrible contract. They “broke up” to get out of it. They were still living in 900 square ft houses near 8 mile after it. Ftr Vinnie was a great parent. Came to all the parent teacher conferences. Most home games too. His youngest so Steve leads a great band getting play around Mt Clemens. I wouldn’t be surprised if they went big.
