I appreciated the heads up. I switched over in time to see umaa score as the clock ran out on the 1st half. It’s fun watching them be humiliated, so I’ll be checking back often.
Any idea why Hurley was disgusted or was it just his team’s sloppiness at the end?

Honestly, uofm stealing the ball from ASU in the last 15 seconds while they were dribbling the time out, then full court pressing is the exact equivalent of Rutgers diving for the ball when we were in victory formation. And I’m just shocked a scuffle happened.

Starting shit is okay if you’re wearing blue & yellow. Juwan saw what was happening, kind of rolled his eyes and said “come on!” or something exhibiting exasperation, but then turned back and finished talking w/Hurley—then walked away from the skirmish. Didn’t try to gather his players, tell them to get it together, he just walked into the handshake line. That’s not exactly coaching or leadership, but he won’t get nicked by anyone in Detroit sports media nor his AD or president. When it comes to accountability, there’s no equity; it’s a one-way street and the arrow is jammed up MSU’s backside.

I think the anger management actually worked in this case. He just ran away from the conflict. No punches thrown. But the late game pressing (when you didn't do it all game) and stealing the ball doesn't go over well. I think a UM player tried to dunk as the clock ran down and an ASU player was like...yeah, that's not happening. That's what started the pushing.

But, COACH your team. Don't apologize that they're pressing. Tell them to knock it off. Don't lie that they were pressing (like he did after the Wisconsin game last year). Are they just not listening to him?

They fouled ASU with 30 seconds to go. Come on. Bench players do that so they can get the ball back and score. Everyone knows that. Bush League.
