Thanksgiving: Swill Edition

We are coming up to one of the great holidays of the year, Thanksgiving. I propose that we set aside our differences for the purposes of this thread and unite around food and football.

The RQA family will not be hosting this year but are contributing the stuffing for the Turkey and pumpkin pies. Our stuffing is a sausage, sage, bread cube and veggie mixture. I made ahead and froze two flaky pastry crusts and will be assembling two pumpkin pies today. One the traditional Libby recipe and the other fancied up with some Ricotta and a couple extra egg yolks.

Dinner will be after the Lions game.

I was considering heading out to State College for the game Saturday, but laziness has prevailed and I will be home. Will be roasting my own Turkey Friday to make sure we have some to use for sandwiches and leftovers for the weekend.

The traditional Thanksgiving snow fence installation has occurred, now on to the parade (on the TeeVee) and family dinner.

Thanks to all the posters on tSwill, and for having been born & living most of our lives in Michigan, with all its diversity of geography, activities & people.

In the tragedy of my wife having Covid and us having to shut our house down and me delivering turkeys to my brother in Troy and sister in law in Warren so they could host our parents and siblings today, your post has reminded me that I can still be thankful for what I’m getting today.

Update: the wife and daughter are in the kitchen making apps for lunch. My daughter asks if she can turn on some music and proceeds to play Smoke On the Water. I’m doing something right in this crazy world, and I don’t even listen to Deep Purple. She’s 13.

Kids are playing with other kids. But it's my turn keeping an eye on the 2 year old. It hasn't been too bad this year though. It's actually nice the 70-80 group of people finally split after the grandpa passed. Having about 45 of us is so much more manageable.

I'm thinking less of a baby and more a number of babies... like all day tomorrow. Might even wake me up in the middle of the night. That's always a great feeling... stomach attacks at 3 am.
How do those ladies shop all day tomorrow? They must be all literally full of shit. Yikes.

Feel bad for those that only dump once a day. I average three.

State GF carried the Purdue flag in the SMB. According to her, she carried a lot more...only shit once a week. I stayed clear of her angry brown spider.
