It’s nice, but #1? I’ve been to a few. The list was determined by yelp reviews - guess that makes sense now.

Lake Superior trail was neat to backpack through.

I wouldn't worry too much. Still a trek to get there. Does Duluth even have an airport? Green Bay is still a 4hour drive.

Yes Duluth & Marquette & Houghton have airports, maybe Iron Mountian does, too. However, it isn't the vacation spot for anyone who wants more than tents, hikes & black flies.
