Mine is working great for when the coal runs out. I sometimes leave all the burners and oven on as a supplement to my gas furnace.

Sort of falls under the same heading as the banks which wanted less regulation. Please, please let us keep selling junk to the poor, instead of using the power of mass production to create better washing machines.

Define "better." For the environment? Sure. For your clothes? Nope.

Oh please, you are going to believe a bunch of companies that are selling cheap junk and raking in the cash or you are going to be at least somewhat skeptical of their claims.

Freedom for Big Food that is pouring salt into its products while hiding that fact from the consumer.
More than 70 percent of salt in the American diet comes from packaged and prepared foods, according to the Food and Drug Administration, not from the salt shaker at home.

Sure, people shouldn't buy anything that is prepared by someone else. We all need to have our own farms with animals for meat, eggs & milk, grow our own wheat, corn, soybeans, etc, grow our own veggies & fruits, and eat nothing out of season shipped from some other part of the country or from overseas. /s

Much like many other issues within our society I tend to go along with the majority of societies members and chose the most cost effective and time effective means of existence.
With mass production it really is much better for everyone to rely on the markets to effectively allocate resources, however, in order to maintain the best for society, those markets must be highly regulated to avoid poisoning us slowly or quickly, and to avoid bad actors causing bank runs, among many other goods that regulation and law requires.

Big Food affects what you are putting in your pie hole long before Stoffers puts together an MRE.
A modern farm field is a chemical soup of unnatural ingredients, so we are pretty much toast if we really want to eat "healthy" as traces of those chemicals move all the way up the food chain.
Meat, and for that matter egg & dairy, animals are fed a soup of antibiotics and growth hormones during their lives, as they are fed on said grains with the chemical soup from the fields in them.
As noted, in a mass marketed food supply system the only protection we have from being fed crap, literally as a matter of fact, because there are regulations on what level of actual shit can be on of foods, are regulations and laws. It may suck to have to think about this, but there is no way to get away from it, and thus regulations about too much of a bad thing, like salt, are just another regulation we need to try to keep the workers productive at work.

Are you saying "organic" is a lie?
Buy local when possible. Plant a garden. Stop processed garbage crap down your pie hole. Unless you like being unhealthy and fat. Then, I guess... go for it?

If by organic, you mean 100% untainted by the chemical soup environment then yes, I am. Organic has its own set of regulations which ensure some levels of chemicals, so as always it is whatever the regulations require.
The main point I am making is that most consumers, regardless of how much they try, are going to be fed what the government allows Big Food to feed them, even if they try to go back to using basic food stock. Furthermore, there are not enough even "organic" supplies to feed the entire country, and "organic" is just another regulated food stock, thus no matter what one does, one is at the mercy of Big Food & government regulations. Thus, another regulation regarding salt is just that, another regulation which regulatory agencies can debate as to if it has merit. To rail against it as government overreach is dumb.

Oh noes! Bob, lock the doors, turn off the lights, the stove police are coming!
https://www.vox.com/policy/2023/3/21/23593644/gas-stove-pollution-science-health-risks
The Consumer Product Safety Commission is now officially open for comments on how it should grapple with evidence that gas stoves pollute indoor air. The Department of Energy has proposed rules that would raise the bar for new stoves sold, which would not ban gas stoves but require they meet higher efficiency standards. States and cities are doing even more: Illinois is considering legislation requiring a warning label on gas stoves; Eugene, Oregon, recently joined the list of 105 cities beginning to phase out gas in new construction in the country to begin to phase out gas in new construction; and New York’s governor has prioritized legislation to phase out fossil fuel heating by 2030.

Abstract
Indoor gas stove use for cooking is associated with an increased risk of current asthma among children and is prevalent in 35% of households in the United States (US). The population-level implications of gas cooking are largely unrecognized. We quantified the population attributable fraction (PAF) for gas stove use and current childhood asthma in the US. Effect sizes previously reported by meta-analyses for current asthma (Odds Ratio = 1.34, 95% Confidence Interval (CI) = 1.12–1.57) were utilized in the PAF estimations. The proportion of children (<18 years old) exposed to gas stoves was obtained from the American Housing Survey for the US, and states with available data (n = 9). We found that 12.7% (95% CI = 6.3–19.3%) of current childhood asthma in the US is attributable to gas stove use.
