With social media in the mix, aka that million-dollar gymnast, wherever she is, if a player thinks they can make a splash they have to try, but as noted we don't have to cheer.

Watching Brian Kelly’s defense and offense wilt are guilty pleasures.

L$U still’s got Bama and TAMU plus Ole Miss and MS State.

3 losses don’t cut it in Cajun Country

The landscape has changed. NIL, etc- I don't wish them bad, of course, but we're not a JV team.

If you don't wanna be at MSU, fine. Find somewhere else to play. I don't have to celebrate it.

I felt the same way when Morten Andersen transferred to the New Orleans Saints.

They did lose to FSU in Game 1 last year also.
Lost to Tennessee. Beat Bama. Lost to A&M.
Still made the SEC Championship.

Don't play Tennessee this year.

But, yes...this does put them in a hole to start the year.

Yeah, I'm more and more thinking I'm getting close to not sitting in the stadium. I have to tell you, the MSU decision bto place how many minutes and seconds are left before we return from selling the cars on t.v. on the scoreboard makes it more aggravating sitting in the stadium. You look up and it says 3:29 till we return. fuuuuuuuuucccc.....

Ditch the season tickets, buy games for only the ones you want to go to like Michigan or Ohio state using the money you saved by not paying for Richmond. The stadium will be half empty for the Richmond game and I do not believe the powers that be care about that all that much and neither should you. This is the way.

my thoughts after week 1 (you can thank me later):

- the TCU/Colorado game was fun but I'm already sick of the slurping of Coach Prime. I ain't pulling against him, but I'm not ready to anoint him the next Knute Rockne, either. They have to travel to Oregon and Utah, USC at home. Hell, I bet Nebraska shows up this weekend for a while, at least until they decide to give the game away in the 4th quarter. Still a good win on the road for a team that went 1-11 last year.

- a lot of good QB's in college football this year. Penix, Maye, Williams, Nix, Sanders, Travis at Florida State - all of these guys are capable of putting up some big numbers pretty much every week. Milton from Tennessee, heck even the kid at Duke looked impressive.

- as much as I hate to say it, the relative 'sudden' success of some teams makes me a little fidgety about MSU and Tuck. Despite what I said above, Colorado, a team that was 1-11 last year, go on the road to beat TCU, Duke with a 2nd year coach takes down #9 Clemson. I'd be willing to be that the Spartans would've struggled mightily against both TCU and Clemson in year 4 of Tuck.

- the west looks impressive early: USC, Oregon, Washington while some traditional powers/early season favorites looked a little lackluster: Georgia and Ohio State. They didn't look 'bad', but certainly didn't blow anyone's doors off. LSU got drilled, which was fun.

- not 'breaking news', of course, but the current portal and NIL situation is unsustainable. I don't have a solution, but I suspect something will be done at some point to reign in the 'wild west' format of it.

- was fun to be on campus in EL Friday, made it home to watch the game. It was warm but not 'hot'. Lots of energy from tailgate to tailgate. If we can keep injuries in check, I think the Spartans will get 6-7 wins this year.

I was a season ticket holder for more than 25 years.  In that time I never missed a home game.

It wasn't any one thing but rather a combination of many things that made me finally decide to give them up.  Missing that first game was rough but after I got by that I can tell you that I have never once regretted giving up my season tickets.

I also see that we start the season with four straight home games, I always hated those stretches.

never been a season ticket holder, but this makes sense to me.

I grab a ticket here and there for a random game but I'm almost always tailgating and, I gotta tell ya, even that can be exhausting, and I live about 4-5 blocks from campus. As fun as it can be, making it literally an all day event would wear on me after a week or two.

Not sure where to put this: https://www.bbc.com/sport/american-football/66713731
It is about the money and how college sports is changing. In Europe and UK they really don't understand the sports tied to the schools as they are all club based from an early age.

"We all love college athletics, and that's why we're so concerned about this," Buddy Carter (Congressman GA) said. "We don't want to see it ruined." wrote:

Nebraska's QB is a turnover machine. And he just got hurt. Hate to see how bad their backup is.

I hope we don't lose to them. General college football thread 2023 - Page 3 502811600

Texas A&M is looking at a $67.5M buyout if they jettison Jimbo Fisher during or at the end of the '23 season. Losing to ACC's Miami 48-33 after a 5 win season last year.
