Stage 1 on NBC now.
Didn't realize most of this years version was going to be on peacock. Channel flipping with Wimbledon will be much tougher now

Just signed up. Pretty sure the Women's World Cup and some college football games are on Peacock. Whatever. What is one more streaming service.

Powless in the polka dots. Good to see.
No Rogolic this year, which is kind of odd. Wins the Giro, focusing on the Vuelta.
Jumbo Visma looks almost unbeatable again.
These 3 weeks in July are always the highlight of the summer

Bob Roll is looking old. Hopefully Phil never retires as the prospects to take over are still looking rough. Studio guys are still a mess. The two new guys had a rough go yesterday. They need to get Jens Voigt back.

What’s the pink jersey? Heard them mention it, but didn’t catch what it was.

I enjoyed him in the studio. Seems odd.
And, yes, Jens was a great a couple of years back.

I think he was last year too. Seems like they were trying to groom him to take the booth at some point. But didn’t grab the bull by horns ( still stumbles over his words) like Bob did when he was coming up. Maybe they are trying to get him some different experience. The studio show is a dud and he’s done it already.

Back on USA network today. Powless already has 2 KOM points.
Time ticking on Cav getting the record for stage wins. Could come today.

After replay, I don't think Philippsen was pinching van Aert into the wall. Full speed it looked questionable.

Are they allowed to stop mid race for hormone injections or is that strictly limited to the team trailer, post race?

They have their choice of injection, gel or topical.
It's a pretty sweet set up.

Looked bush league at first. But with the slight curve, he was just trying to get the shortest line. Still think he unnecessarily leaned his shoulder right at the apex of the turn.

Sawtooth profile today, likely another sprint finish, though it's another tricky one at the end.
Still think Cav will get his record stage win at some point.

Another chaotic sprint finish. I feel like the organizers should've put more thought into these approaches. Lots of danger with teams taking lines, trying to hit the apex of turns at 40+mph.

Another day in the high mountains.
The boys climb both Col d'Aspin and the Tourmalet. Foggy and chilly. Reports of temps in the upper 40's - 50's when they're scheduled to be on the climbs.

Sepp!
Sepp pulling Vingegaard and Pogacar up the Tourmalet. 49K to go, lots of racing, but it's looking like Vingegaard will be in yellow tonight.
For now, anyway.

Jumbo Visma is as strong of a team as I've seen in some time. Sepp pulls Vingegaard up the Tourmalet, now Van aert is doing Van aert things.
And Rogolic isn't even riding in theTour!
insane.

Did you see Van Aert? Wow.
He was having to be held up by spectators once he peeled off to let Vingegaard go.
