Coach Prime Was A Home Run Hire

Bummed their game is on at 10pm. The networks are so stupid. If this guy gets them to 3-0 holy smokes look out. The hype is going to reach runaway freight train levels.

It's not like he is there long term or coaching football. Colorado sold their soul for 2 or 3 seasons of relevance and that's with probably going 5-7 in year 1

That cheap shot yesterday sounds like it will hurt the buffs for at least three games.

Hopefully MSU gets a nice defense first coach that does it the right way and embraces Tressel ball. Spartan nation can’t afford to lose your support!

Coach Prime is a 21st Century Barry Switzer.

MSU passed on Switzer and hired Denny Stolz in early 1973.  

Then the AFL Patriots hired Chuck Fairbanks. Fairbanks,  Switzers boss at OU, was an MSU grad, assistant to Biggie and Duffy, who’d recommended Switzer to MSU.  Hired Switzer who’d been OC for 6 seasons.

Over the next 17 seasons Switzer won 3 Natty’s and 12 Big 8 Championships.  

MSU’s BOT played it safe hiring Denny Stolz who had been MSU’s  DC for 2 seasons.

Roll ahead and the same mindset is still at MSU.  Coach Prime scares the hell out of MSU old guard just like Switzer scared the hell out of MSU back fifty years ago.

They will have to play a lot better at Oregon. They took a beating this weekend.

I will say this - that was the only fun game to watch all last weekend. I wasn't especially impressed with the quality of that game or the sportsmanship. But they did pull a win out of their ass on that one so they have some resiliency.

What Im saying is, if you fuck with that attitude for "success" it wont be sustainable. (Of course Colorado might not care if they can use this hype to get into a mega conference or something.)

I wanted to watch that game but it was on too late. It’s kind of funny how bad the Pac 12 is at tv. They have a star literally built for prime time and they are screwing it up.

They could easily go 6-6 and maybe win 10 games next year. Then Shedeur goes to the NFL and Deion moves on to greener pastures. Yay Colorado, I guess. Boulder doesn't become a destination job for the next guy because Prime made a 2 year pit stop there.
