I really like Harlan. What a great Spartan, but last night, down by 28, 3rd and 27, and you run off tackle is the best job interview I can think of. What message are you sending both teams and the fans? Maybe I’m wrong but to me you’re saying “this game is done, let’s try not to lose by 70.” I hope he has great success in the NFL coaching DB’s or as a college coach doing the same. Outstanding person and Spartan.

Barnett had the chance to prove himself this year.

Sure, he was totally screwed by the situation, but those are the breaks. His chance was to totally tear up the coaching staff and put the best coaches he had in the jobs, instead he stuck, or was stuck, with Tucker's choices. If he wanted to send a signal about what kind of coach he is he should have done itin game 4, not game 12.

I expect Jonathon Smith’s agent has been told don’t slam any doors shut but wait until Bloody Monday (and maybe some Bloody Sunday too) before he makes a decision.

UCLA may still let Kelly go and TAMU may also be interested in Smith.  But Oregon and Washington aren’t going to be looking, Nebraska just hired Rhule.

AD Haller/search committee did a good job of keeping the media noses out of the search process and convincing Smith MSU would be a good place for his next Power Five job.

Guys talk, word gets around and maybe UCLA and USC are keeping their coaches for the time being.

With MSU’s move, got to believe TAMU is waiting until Sunday/Monday because their next coach is finishing up the regular season.

Pretty standard. He obv has the OK of the board. You can't wait for the BoT to meet.

Same with contracts. Contract probably won't be officially signed for months.

He said it was 90% done at one point.
