Yup. It will be weird seeing him on the MSU sidelines. The name Jimbo makes no sense north of Ohio. He might have to use his actual name at MSU.

He’ll look good on the Kansas, WSU, or Arizona sideline.

The football crazy donor$ at TAMU gave  Jimbo Fisher a big contract extension and raise after his team’s 1 loss COVID season.
Fisher has now been fired with a reported $77M buyout. Â There are worse things than being 58 and getting $77M to leave.

I guess I’m thinking here is our crossroads. aTm is looking for a coach. We can step up, show the country our football building, out spend them in competing for a coach and announce to the country we’re damn serious about football. Or, we interview Enos and Narduzzi.

Elko was the DC there. He’s going to be 1A or 1B on the interview list I’m thinking.

We must end this discussion immediately and decide something much more important: Are we going to refer to Texas A&M the way Turtleneck and I call it TAMU, or aTm, which is how DWags refers to the school? And the quicker DWags comes to grips with his loss on this matter, then the sooner we can go back to choosing a coach for TAMU.

I don't know, Dwags, it isnt like that is a list of the only decent coaching options in the country. There really is only one name on that list that is a crossover with MSU (at this point), and that's Elko. As you mentioned he was former DC there, so it shouldn't reflect on MSU if he gets the aTm job.DWags wrote:I guess I’m thinking here is our crossroads. aTm is looking for a coach. A "bidding war" (we won vs an SEC team) is how we ended up with Tucker, remember? Wasn't that long ago.MiamiSpartan wrote:I don't know, Dwags, it isnt like that is a list of the only decent coaching options in the country. Listen, NO ONE is more committed to seeing Dan Enos back on the sidelines of Spartan Stadium than me. "Loose Lips Sink Coaching Dreams" has been my motto - I've kept Dan Enos' name out of my mouth prior to today.

Oof. No, MSU will never be a deep-pocketed SEC/Texas program, and that makes me very happy.

Based off an estimated $77 million dollar buy out and roughly $53,000 for 4 years of tuition, you could put 1452 kids through college and get a four year degree at A&M

We don't have aTm oil money.
We have some mortgage money, but that market has gone to hell lately. We do have a nice cyclotron, though.

Do we know for a fact that we still have access to mortgage money? Based on some of the things that we've been hearing, it has sounded like he is focusing on his backyard fun park and his midlife crisis NBA team.

Welp, it’s good to see we have people worried about spending other people’s money. Not only at MSU, but now we’re clutching pearls about aTm donors.
If you ask me would I prefer equity of gifts to university to help get some great kids through college instead of sports donation, of course I would. But that won’t happen in your life or your kids lives. So, I ask you this, should MSU decline athletic gifts over a certain limit, say 5 million? Is that what would make you feel better about your school? Cool. Much respect. But why are we on a Sports message board?
I’ll say it for the 100th time: the only thing worse than rich alumni donors giving money to your athletic department is rich alumni donors who don’t.
This season sucked. Let’s tell the next coach to come to msu but let him know we’ll be discouraging huge donations to athletics in lieu of academics. Come on down Dan Enos.

Let TAMU go after Elko. That leaves Lanning, DeBoer, Norvell, or Enos for us to take. Unless the mortgage money has dried up, then we go with Ferraco.

See? This proves Enos is a man of the people and quite interested in hearing what’s on the minds of students. How often do we hear from our marginalized youth how they want a voice and to be heard? This proves Dan Enos is listening.

Who wouldn't want a mastermind, who would take the other board to task in the middle of the night after a loss? This is the type of disciplinarian our fanbase needs right now.
