Hey so this sucks. Terribly.

I remember the recruitment of this kid. We were in on it, and close to landing him. Michigan kid. I think Detroit metro kid. Chose PSU (who could blame him at the time). Had great straight line speed and made the NFL. Decent career.

Now....ALS. Awful.

Played at Clarenceville. Had Pat Perles and him in my office when they played the HS I was AD at in basketball. MSU was the only school telling him he'd be linebacker in college. He wanted fullback. PSU lied to him. At a track meet that spring he told me one of the coolest nights of his families life was when Joe Pa showed up at his door in Livonia for dinner.

What if medical researchers discovered that the sudden chilling of the head and upper torso as if having ice water dumped on ones head, triggers the onset of ALS? That would be ironic.
