I thought Cook was a shoe in. Travis Jackson is great for comic relief, but captain?

If you think about it, he is able to motivate the team, probably has a strong work ethic and a lot of the underclassmen probably respect him. That isn't saying anything against Cook, but I think the team votes on captains and then the coaches give the green light. Can someone correct me if I'm wrong about that.

Just a reflection on how bad he is at his job.

I wish ESPN would hire someone that are actually good at providing some insight into the game, and help me stay informed. Doesn't have to be an ex jock either, hire a 'Bob Costas' type that can give the audience good insight.

Perhaps dropping Desmond and hiring a female would help increase the games appeal to different demos.

Rittenberg and Bennett do a decent job on the B1G blog. Although now they seem to have brought in a couple more guys, and I'm not liking them as much. Its almost as if most journalist think of the B1G as um/O$U and everyone else. You can tell that Rittenberg and Bennett don't believe that (although they do suck O$U off at times), but they seem to be pretty level headed.

Only one other of them has UM in the Top 25. It's like they're grooming him to be the next Lou Holth. Someone so incredibly, blatantly biased, that they become a parody of themselves.

That's a "Same ole Spartans" pick from 5-10 years ago...not now. Could MSU go 10-2 sure but one of those loses will not be at MA.

No, he's a speed guy, great to have for situational downs. Legit talent who got hurt early in his career.

I don't doubt that he'll play quite a bit. What I do doubt is that he's the legit starter listed ahead of Harris. Coach D does this kind of thing a lot to respect the seniors. I'm fine with it, but I think people read way too much into depth charts.

I also think listing Hill 2nd is another respect thing. The guys "behind" him absolutely must get experience this year...and they will...largely at Hill's expense IMHO. But he'll probably be listed as 2nd string the entire year.

Hopefully we can keep this up, but I have a feeling this year we will 'only' be a top ten D. Actually I'm expecting a lot of people freaking out after the Ducks game, because we'll probably be somewhere in the top 50 D. I expect a lot of freaking out and the new narrative will be that Narduzzi should have left while his name was hot and hope that he isn't taking Coach D's place. I think the D will be ok, but learning curves.

I remember being shocked when this kid committed to and then signed with the Broncos - over offers from most of the B1GTen and others.

1. Cleveland Browns
Chukwuma Okorafor, OT, Western Michigan. Think back to 2013, when a rock-solid offensive tackle from the MAC aced the pre-draft process and ultimately found himself going No. 1 overall. That player was Central Michigan's Eric Fisher, now of the Kansas City Chiefs, and he's become one of the better left tackles in football. A similar scenario unfolds here with Western MIchigan's Okorafor, a tremendously gifted athlete with refined blocking technique and NFL-caliber size at 6-foot-5 and around 330 pounds. In this scenario, the Browns traded for Jimmy Garoppolo in the offseason. Okorafor locks down the left side for Cleveland after Joe Thomas.
