Last two cast members I remember being funny are Will Ferrell/Tracy Morgan...so like 2002/2003. Not even sure I know who is on SNL now.

Bad ratings with a new cast and bringing in an older cast member to be the host? Say it ain't so! 

Not sure that I care though, I read about some of the skits on Monday. Think dammit, I should watch that skit, never watch the skit and move on with my life.

Too many other outlets for that type of entertainment now... When they were the only show in town the cream rose to the top. Not so much now.

didn't even know it was still on..

11:30 pm on Saturday nights, sometimes from 10pm until 11pm they have last weeks on. Most of the time its on NBC, but I think you can check out some older ones on VH1 or some other channel.

Read this over the weekend, and it shows why the show was so much better back then. The humor was more subtle, and there was more depth to the comedy.

2) SNL was a phenomenon of the Baby Boom, where young professionals with children and high school kids with curfews had a comedy show whose humor was generationally relevant to them.
3) The Demographics of the USA has changed so much since 1975 that there is much less of a common cultural experience for people that can be reflected and reinforced by one show.
