You aren't getting 'kicked out', per se. The way the board is setup though is supposed to be run by the board members. A lot of us regulars feel that if people don't give a shit about this board, they shouldn't have a say in how it is run. It isn't banning anyone or keeping anyone from posting here. Hell, it most likely won't even change anything, but why does a poster, like JLap, technically have more input into how the board is run, over a poster like Jake From State Farm? I don't care where people post, but I'd like this board to have the ability to adapt and grow, if it can.

I know what the Gerousia is and I'm curious to know what the threshold of inactivity is for a member to get kicked out.

I take my membership in the Gerousia very seriously and I would like to avoid being kicked out of the Gerousia for inactivity.

Is a few posts a month enough? A few posts a week? Do I have to be on every day? Is this defined anywhere?

The last time I was on here InTenSity vociferously told me to "go back to tRCMB" and said something about sucking Trevor's dick instead of being a real tSwill poster... never mind that I left that board months, and mentally left years, before tSwill was even born. But why stop a good power trip tantrum in the name of "the ability to adapt and grow."

(the ban on fuck, then the solution of allowing "fvck" was the final straw and made me not want to be associated with anyone that thought that was a good idea.)

I'm not sure exactly what's going on here, but what I think I see is what I knew was just a matter of time for tSwill... While I appreciate Heat and See Rock and the work they put into the board (as I think they started this as a legit alternative to tRCMB, and I think they are still purely working toward that end). There are others who are just butt-hurt that they were never Mods (aka the ones who ruined tRCMB) on the other board and would never achieve the ability to rule and punish others there. They are power hungry keyboard jockeys, and like burgeoning fascists do it in the name of righteousness and helping tSwill.

These people have patiently curried favor, have diligently posted, and have taken every opportunity to create the "others" on this board. The "others" being the reason Germany, oops, I mean tSwill hasn't risen to the levels of greatness that it deservedly should.

They have been good little soldiers, and it's time to consolidate power so the Reich, oops, I meant tSwill can rise again.

So you ask why JLap should have more input over Jake from State Farm... I assume that this means that JLap is Geronte and Jake isn't... well then elevate Jake rather than get rid of JLap. And if JLap hasn't logged onto the board and you want him out... I say, who gives a shit? If he doesn't vote, then it doesn't effect you.

And if voting needs to be a plurality of Geronte then perhaps you may want to change that rule instead of kicking people out. Maybe do a monthly or yearly vote to find what the "sea level" of voting participation is and make that the threshold.

Either way, I don't think that making a more exclusive board rather than an inclusive board is the way to make it "adapt and grow." In life I always question those that actively want more power, it's a slippery slope and usually leads to bad ideas. And I question it especially since I was told to go back to tRCMB... it just seems a tad hypocritical and sinister to tell posters that they don't belong on the board and then use the lack of participation of others as a justification to consolidate power.

There are some great things going on, on this board... Things that tRCMB doesn't offer. The culling/power exclusivity isn't one of them.

I think the activity threshold is every 2.13 hours during work hours. After that it drops down to about one post every 8.6 hours.

It originally started with people who hadn't posted after the first month of activity. No one really knows whats going on, including SeeRockCity, and him and Miser are really the only ones who would probably make changes. SeeRock appears to be apprehensive about making changes, and its his prerogative. The rest of us just want blood in the streets, because blood.

1) It wouldn't surprise me if I told you to leave, although I don't recall it, and I apologize if I did.
2) I used the search function to go through all of your posts and couldn't find a reply or a topic where I would have done that, if done in the game thread though, I think that is fair game for all sorts of drunken revelry.

I don't really like posting on message boards anymore, sorry. People like The_Dude ruined it for me. I prefer the game chats... which is something tRCMB doesn't have...

I think you missed the sarcasm.

No one will be forced to post, and no one will be excluded from posting. The board was set up so that the people could govern it. As it is, that is not possible. Any change made would not impact anyone's ability to post. I guess I don't understand the power angle. No one here has the power to do anything really.

I don't want to generalize, but are people getting upset they won't be able to govern the board (that they barely post on), that they can't govern anyway because the system doesn't work?

Once a month, or once every 2 hours?

I don't really care about the rest of the conversation or why any of this is happening, I just want to know what the requirement is. I thought I was good to lurk and post when I felt like it, but if I need to log in and post something to retain my "status" then I'd like to know how often that needs to happen.

I willingly offer up my Geronte status. I don't care at all.

But let's not hide what this is... people want to be Mods so they can have the power to run (ruin) the board like Nedgo.

If that wasn't the case, then you would look to change the rules that stop the board form being "governed" rather than looking to kick people out of the process as the solution.
