Conference Tourney Week

I'm not able to watch any of the games, saw that FSU went about 8 minutes and only scored 2 points against UVA. Thought we might have a general thread to discuss Bball this week in. If it doesn't work, by next week this will be on page 2.

Apparently Illinois has no interest in the NCAA, but wants to try all the new rules in the NIT.

watched some of the Florida State/Clemson noon game yesterday. Florida St. did everything they could to give that game away. Up 20 with 9 minutes to go and Clemson cut it to 1 with less than 30 seconds. Not surprised that Florida St. doesn't have much left in them today.

I had that conversation this morning with a guy who's at the ACC tourney. I asked him what happened to FSU, they used to be at least decent defensively, but they struggled against Clemson and only won by 2 or so.
That and UVA is pretty good.

I believe Florida St. turned the ball over 5 times in the last 90 seconds.. after the game, they went to the studio and Seth Greenberg said "not to take anything away from Clemson, but that was a horribly played basketball game"...InTenSity wrote:

and, yeah, UVA is pretty good obviously - but I suspect they'll struggle in a tournament format where they could possibly play 4 games in 4 days against some athletic teams.

Awesome Bob! If I'm in the area later I'll try to stop by and we (you, me and the dog) can hang out and watch hoops. I think I still remember how to get there from the Cotton Bowl party you hosted...I know it gets old but hearing this all the time, but that party was legendary!

yep - grew up in North Carolina, went undergrad in North Carolina and lived there for 25 years. Lots of basketball fans in the state. Not to mention that Greensboro is an hour drive from NC State, UNC, Duke.. and about 25 minutes from Wake Forest... and about 90 minutes from Charlotte.InTenSity wrote:

oh and, yeah, I saw Springsteen at the Greensboro Coliseum.. not sure that I've ever seen a basketball game there. Also saw the Tunnel of Love tour at the Smith Center.

Wisky is struggling with um? I'm only able to watch the scores, I can't see the game. That and UF is giving UK a tough start, but I expect that to change in the 2nd half.
