I've never watched this show but am interested this year because of the heavy Spartan presence. Any
veteran viewers out there that can fill me in on what to expect?

EAST LANSING — Michigan State football fans will have some rare insight into several of the Spartans' former players via the Houston Texans having been selected for HBO's 'Hard Knocks" series.

Michigan State has more of its former players on Houston's roster than any other NFL team, with quarterback Brian Hoyer, linebacker Max Bullough, receivers Keshawn Martin and Keith Mumphery and safety Kurtis Drummond.

The "Hard Knocks" series is a reality sports documentary show produced by NFL Films, and the upcoming season will mark its 10th.

It's a good show. Usually they concentrate on 3-4 sagas and follow them. With Houston one will probably be the QB competition between Hoyer and Mallett. Another is usually around a UDFA/late round pick who is a long shot to make the team. And then who knows. Maybe Andre Johnson or something. Didn't he ask for a trade?

So, Keith Mumphrey's ascension to the #1 WR spot, you're saying.  Good.  Good.

Edit -- okay, chuckleheads, here's why I said that:

Mumphery, a fifth-round NFL draft pick, impressed on the Texans first day, according to a report from Texans' analyst John Harris.

"The day rookie WR Keith Mumphrey was drafted, I noted how good he'd be for the special teams units but if he's not careful he's going to inject himself right into the WR competition,'' Harris penned. "That guy caught a ton of passes throughout the day and even got some kudos from Brian Hoyer during the QB's media session after the OTA.

"He's a rookie. He's not perfect. He dropped a pass or two. But, that guy is making a big impression right away with the staff and veterans.''

Started watching just now.

Bill O'Brien is kind of a bad ass.

Mumphrey got called out in the first meeting for not knowing a teammates name.

I hear Hoyer is featured pretty prominently but haven't gotten there yet.

I was just hoping other people might be watching. Her name is Hillary Johnson and she is a cheerleader for the Ravens.

They showed him cataching a pass in the last game right before they fucked up the two minute drill, but nothing other than that. Haven't seen Bullough or Drummond at all.

Brian Hoyer is back at it again. Peter King just released the story a few weeks ago how Brian created an awful environment in the Browns QB room alienating Manziel.

There were also rumours that people in Brian camp were the ones leaking info on Johnnys issues.

There’s not a doubt in my mind this has something to do with Mallet and Hoyer.

I warned the Texans fans about how Brian is in the locker room, and how he throws teammates under the bus during pressers.

Conspiracy

Typical fuckin' scummer.
