Reddit is entertaining, although I don't participate too much. Well, it can be. The last month there has been a lot of controversy, will probably end up like yahoo. Us old geezers use it while the kiddies find the next 4chan.

I say this as an old man who loves Reddit despite being way outside its main demographic. Of course there are outrageously objectionable subreddits—topical discussion boards—but you don’t have to visit those. Reddit at its best is wonderful. Inspiring, even. Because Reddit is so large, with 169M unique visitors each month, it is impossible to generalize accurately about what went on yesterday and is continuing today. Nevertheless, the precipitating cause was the termination of the employment of Victoria Taylor for reasons Reddit and she have not disclosed. Victoria was not only the wildly popular enabler of Reddit’s wildly popular AMA‘s (“Ask Me Anything”), she was the only Reddit employee visible to most redditors (Reddit users).

I enjoy some sub-Reddits that have a very narrow focus, because there's nowhere else to go.

As for the site as a whole, it's dominated by poor, liberal, gay people who have an enormous sense of entitlement, and very little obvious reasons for having an sense of entitlement. Everything else gets downvoted to the point that no one can even read a rebuttal (or correction) of the BS they spew.

That's why it sucks.

I do and I am a Huge fan of it, or at least was before all this bullshif. A few items:

Like anything, it's what you make of it. If you subscribe to the things that interest you and unsubscribe from the shit that irritates you, it can be quite entertaining and inspiring....(Diy subreddit, woah dude, local subreddits for things to do during the week).

Regarding the format: I exclusively use RES (reddit enhancement suite) which is an add on for chrome and ublock on my computer and alien blue for my phone. 100% solves any formatting issues and makes it easy to navigate. When tTurd took a turn for the worse, this place and reddit fills the void and then some.

That all being said, fuck all this drama--- don't subscribe to these websites for the internet drama.

People are outraged for no real reason and are reacting without actually listening to the reasons for what happened. Subreddits were banned for violating the TOS for harassment, then an employee was let go and people are pissed that Reddit didn't violate HR best practices (and laws) by disclosing all the reasons behind it.
