Need advice: How do you get your dog to take a pill?

My dog locks her jaw and won't let me place her medicine at the back of dr throat.
I've been crushing it up and mixing it in with her food or with a spoonful of peanut butter but she's never been a big eater, so sometimes she'll skip a breakfast or dinner, delaying the meds delivery to her system. I also think she's on to the peanut butter trick, because she's showing less and less interest in that, too.
I've even tried AMwood's peanut butter method, but that, too, failed.

She keeps re-aggravating a leg injury and is in obvious discomfort. The meds help her, but no amount of talking to her has helped. The dog is simply being unreasonable.

You need to find a malleable treat that she enjoys and stuff it into that. Head to the pet store, grab a couple brands and experiment.

Hot dog. Cut up and stick pill in. Or open mouth, drop in back and hold shut. Blow on nose until licks nose. Dip the pill in water first to make slippery.

There aren't pretty pharmacies. There are pharmacies that will compound pet medications. Pretty common.
