Art Briles in Trouble?

Baylor coach Briles is in trouble
Chris Petersen calls Briles a liar, pants on fire.
When Art Briles recruited Sam Ukwuachu to play football at Baylor after he was dismissed from Boise State, the Bears coach said he spoke with now former Broncos coach Chris Petersen (currently at Washington) about his new defensive linemen.
Briles told reporters on Friday, following Ukwuachu’s conviction of sexual assault, that in discussion with Petersen there was “no mention of anything beyond Sam being depressed, needing to come home.” Meaning there was nothing regarding a domestic dispute with his then-girlfriend in Boise that riled him up enough to break a window, or other violent behavior.
Chris Petersen calls Briles a liar, pants on fire.

This is where we put that picture of him trying to spit after Cook to Mumphry kicked him and his broken fingers son right in the nuts. Had that sticky piece of cotton stuck in his lip. Funny as hell.

Never been over there. Putting up with Spartan Dawg's Baylor-grad boyfriend was bad enough. That guy was a tool.

It's Texas, Briles is a native Texan.
It's Baylor, a private Baptist university.

To hell with Art Briles for the moment, can someone with knowledge of this case explain to me how Ukwuachu is convicted, but only senetenced to 180 days in county jail?

Yeah, from the description, that was pretty light. Victim was a virgin, and there were texts between them -- she saying, "Slow down and chill," he saying, "You need to lighten up," etc. -- and the pure force of it. I'm a little curious what went into the judge's decision, too. Can't imagine that was a sentencing-guidelines-driven sentence, which would typically be far harsher.
But let's get back to the point -- Briles is a liar and a bad person, amirite? and should get his ass fired?
