That's only what the boy wanted you to believe. In fact, this was a tryout for ISIS. They wanted him to look the part of the bored, awkward tourist. He complied and nailed it to perfection.
BTW: From what I've heard from my sources, apparently ISIL was also interested but backed off because they were afraid he might have some trouble pronouncing their name.
