Sticky: B1G Indy Rep Tiebreaker

This is the relevant one:

5.    The highest ranked team in the first College Football Playoff poll following the completion of Big Ten regular season conference play shall be the representative in the Big Ten Championship Game, unless the two highest ranked tied teams are ranked within one spot of each other in the College Football Playoff poll.   In this case, the head-to-head results of the top two ranked tied teams shall determine the representative in the Big Ten Championship Game.


Getting way ahead of myself here. 


If MSU were to run the table other than a loss in Columbus. And if we were left in the awful position of having to root for UM in the H2H OSU/UM game. 


If UM drops another game, it's a 2 way tie and if OSU beats us, they're in. 


If UM does not drop another conference game, we lose to OSU and UM beats OSU, the above is the tiebreaker that will likely determine who wins the East and goes to Indy and has a shot at the playoffs. 

Yeah, I thought about that earlier today.

IMO, I can see a scenario where MSU could lose a close game in Columbus and not drop too far and if UM were to beat OSU then the old last loss is the worst loss and MSU could be ranked higher than OSU after the last games in November.

I could also be looking through this with Green colored glasses.

I think the playoff committee will manipulate the polls. No conspiracy theory.

But seeing what transpired last year, I think they would slot us within a spot of each other purposefully.

We are not losing in Columbus.

Connor Cook has a grudge, our defense will be light years ahead of where it is right now and our D-Line will terrorize Barrett all day.

This will not be a repeat of last year.

The MVP of that game will be our receivers.

Tough thing about playing OSU as PSU just found out is Meyer is using 3 QB's. OSU will be difficult to game plan for defensively.

Best way to win might be long drives and keep their offense sitting.
