I was wasted - skins were playing vikes new years eve day at rfk. It was cold as hell. We spend first half in wtem hospitality room - open bar. I went to take a leak at half and sonny was coming in to press the flesh. Knocked his old man ass down.

Waited in line probably an hour and a half to have Denny McLain sign a baseball at a local mall the summer after he went 31-6 and the Tigers won the Series. He didn't say anything and looked hungover, like he couldn't wait to get the fuck out of there.

Went over to Holden Hall one weekend night to boink my GF. Got to her room and they said she was over on the brother floor. Took a walk over there looking in open doors and found her shit-faced giving Morten Andersen a back rub.

Not sure who the Sparky you speak of is, but remember seeing Sparky Anderson a few times.

Emerald Lakes sub was built in the mid-late 70's. Adjoining Emerald Pointe was not built until the early 90's, including the home I general contracted. Occasionally saw Sparky walk right in front my house in the morning with a dude I did not recognize as being part of the Tigers front office. Guessing he was a friend that lived in Emerald Lakes. Thought about jumping out the door just to meet him and maybe get an autograph but decided to not bug him.

Last time I saw Sparky was driving home after going out to pick up a Sunday paper. He was walking with the same dude through Emerald Lakes. Slowed down making a turn and we made eye contact. Waved to him. He smiled and waved back...I think partially out of appreciation I didn't stop my vehicle to get out to talk to him.
