Our cat just FUCKED me up. Heard screaming upstairs. Ran up there and a window blind string was wrapped around his neck. I went for the scruff of his neck to “immobilize” him. Didn’t go well. I’ve said this before. If a cat wants to fuck you up there is nothing you can do to stop it with your bare hands. Nothing. At the docs getting a some antibiotics and a tetanus shot. Fun times.

Wife’s cousin damned near lost a couple fingers after her cat that she let “explore” bit her.

Chase Morill the builder on Maine Cabin Masters face was scratched by a barn cat when he was in college. Surgery to remove infection left a significant scar and he’s been wearing beard to cover it ever since.

I’ll take a dog bite every time but if a cat gets testy I clear the hell out.

I worked at the Vet Center in undergrad cleaning out cages. Was always more scared of skittish cats than any dog. Harder body language to read and nowhere safe to put your hands.

Many years ago now my SO had a cat bite between the thumb & index finger, swelled up like a ballon and had to go stay overnight in a hospital with an antibiotic IV drip.

There is also always the danger of rabies with a cat bite.
