V.I.P Spartan Beat - A new year means new things for Spartan

Post by SeeRockCity Mon 28 Mar 2016 - 11:12

East Lansing - March 28, 2016  As spring practices help make the cadence of the coming B1G football seasons, 10th-year coach Mark Dantanio knows that a lot of new faces will be playing in various positions around the field.  The Spartans, coming off a program defining appearance in the College Football Playoffs (and a consequent shellacing from the Crimson Tide), have high hopes for a year that many thought would be a rebuilding effort.

"We have to win as many games as we can," said a source close to the program, "we have to try and show everyone that we can win a lot of games and that means winning games early in the season.".

While many returning players will fill key positions, including 6th year senior linebacker Earl David, there are also many unknowns that may make things interesting for the Spartans.  We'll have more coverage throughout the spring and probably some quotes from coach D'Antonio as they become available.

Yes, my sources say there is no missing the message by the coaches that you have to win games to have a winning season.

And sometimes officials let a scrum happen at a goal line for 11 seconds until a score is a score.

This is great news. It sounds like everyone in the program has the right kind of attitude. It will be interesting to follow the developments over the spring.
