Iraq. What's the use?
So we have to help these schleps retake Mosul and Fallujah. What's the use of this rinse/repeat cycle? Sunnis hate Shiites. Shiites hate Sunnis. Isis holds these cities and the Sunnis residents but Sunnis don't want Shiite involvement in their rescue. What fucking mess.
Just nuke the place and take the oil as ransom. Divide the country in two. You got one year to pick your side. Don't give a fuck about holy or sacred land. Put your shit and holy artifacts on a truck and relocate bitches.
Problem solved. Any dust ups and it's a 50 cal from the side of a low altitude B-52 to solve the problem.

Nah, you're just buying into the "America needs an enemy more than it needs anything else" hype. Nukes are never a good idea, and definitely not when its an enemy that really poses no threat to us whatsoever in a direct way.

Neat? my grandfather knew Patton. Fun story. Not really related. I was thinking about that earlier though. Funny you should mention it.

Nope. Probably won't. Just remember reading it, thinking that it's pretty racist and forgetting about it. Then again I'm not defending white power.xsanguine wrote:InTenSity wrote:

Dad co-piloted a B-17G early '45. Made 35 missions and into The Lucky Bastards Club. Third from right.Travis of the Cosmos wrote:The Pantry wrote:

Never got to meet Patton but held him in very high esteem.
Years later he got presented a personal award from Patton's son (also achieved 4 Star General) for his work as an engineer at TACOM in the M-60 tank program.

Re: Iraq. What's the use?
Random story that I might have told before- my grandfathers actually fought against each other without knowing it. US grandpa was in the campaign fighting through North Africa and up through Italy, while Italian grandpa was, well, defending Italy.
They were best of friends when their kids got married. Probably largely because the Italian grandpa was given the old "fight or we'll kill you" choice and thus moved to the us shortly thereafter in the early 50s (dad followed in 58. Grandpa lived here by himself for several years saving up money.)
Anyway, I digress. Im really glad they didn't kill each other and negate my existence.

Seems overly nationalist, Gomer.
Although it may have the unintended effect of eliminating the overpopulation that will spell our doom.

Welcome To Partytown, Baghdad
Fifteen years after the US invasion, and the war against ISIS, the Iraqi capital is alive and buzzing, with bars and restaurants open til the early morning.
BAGHDAD — When Zeinab Mohamed was a teenager, she was barred from going out after dark, even in her own neighborhood. Plagued with bombings, shootings, and kidnappings, Baghdad was just too dangerous. She rushed back home after school every day, and stayed inside until the next morning. On graduation day at university a decade ago, the thought of a party or a late night out with her friends was out of the question. She celebrated quietly at home.
But on a cool Wednesday night in March, the 30-year-old travel agency employee was lounging at Piano, an upscale west Baghdad restaurant, with about a dozen relatives, enjoying dinner and cake for an uncle’s birthday. It was 10 p.m. Even her 7-year-old nephew had joined the festivities.

I didn't say that but it is nice to see that things are returning to somewhat close to a normal country. I'm sorry that seemed to trigger you. I opposed all the wars in the middle east, let them kill each other - though I know that's a knuckledragging racist attitude.

Well being able to go out to eat with your family and move around without armored cars is certainly closer to normal than it was a few years ago.
I'm sorry that good news seems to have upset you.

Since when did we need an armored vehicle to get around the country? Holy fuck, that is a dumb fucking statement. Just say what your thinly veiled message means. You love Trump and Obama is a Muslim terrorist.

In IRAQ they basically needed an armored car to move around. That's the topic of this thread not the US.
I never mentioned Trump, Obama or Bush. Your derangement syndrome is as astoundingly bad as your reading comprehension skills.
