Rolling Stone: Jason Isbell Receives Bizarre Request To Audition For "The Voice"
Today, the Americana Music Association's reigning Artist of the Year received an email from an NBC talent producer, asking him to consider trying out for the eighth season of The Voice.
"I came across Jason Isbell online and was hoping to chat with him about auditioning for us if it's something that interests him?" wrote the unnamed producer, apparently unaware that Isbell earned his first record deal nearly 15 years ago, back when he joined Drive-By Truckers' lineup during the band's acclaimed Southern Rock Opera tour.

Re: How Was Everyone's Weekend??
I was coming back from a baseball game yesterday, stopped at a light, and a dude in a Camaro was cranking Journey and singing very loudly with his windows down...which was weird because it was hot as crap out (and if his AC was on, his windows should have been up).

dude driving a Camaro should be listening to something besides Journey.. hell, even a little Foghat, Nazareth, Thin Lizzy or something would work. Dude should be ashamed.

Had a good weekend, for the most part. Nothing noteworthy happened, but I smoked some weed, drank some whiskey, and enjoyed some sunshine. Can't complain.

Re: How Was Everyone's Weekend??
Hung some crown molding, picked up the boys coming back from scout camp, went with tWyf to the paint store and Kroger, changed some electrical outlets and re-installed some shoe molding in our family room, worked on the pool a little which had turned green from our pump being off for a few days while waiting for a the repair guy, baked a tenderloin in the Green Egg.... let's see what else.... Couple of nice bathroom visits, listened to book two of the Grail quest series by Bernard Cornwall while working around the house, drank some beer on Saturday night and tied a monkey's fist in the end of my largest utility rope, moved all the tools from my 2nd story porch to my garage shop so the wife could clean up and get ready for some company, dealt with a bees nest in said porch that was buried in a blanket that was left out for the winter, checked my grape vines (so far so good), and finished trimming out the boys' closet by milling and installing a couple of custom poplar trim pieces where we will install the hanging rods that lay perpendicular to the "cubby" shelves that I made and installed a couple of weeks ago.
I think that's it.
I think that's it.
Re: How Was Everyone's Weekend??
Oh, yeah, forgot, sharpened my new skull splitter (Tomahawk) until I could shave my arm hairs with it.
