Coffee Empty Coffee

Post by InTenSity 2016-06-24, 13:00

So, during the week I drink shitty coffee at the office, it is purely a way to get caffeine inside me and get me through the mornings. 10 oz, but I mix 2 of those disposable K-cups. The shit they have here is disgusting, I think there is actually salt in the 'Colombian' blend. If I want to treat myself, there is a really good coffee, called Panther coffee. It is the only coffee I don't need to add much or any sugar to. It has a sweetness to it, but very good, also actually makes me jittery, and not much does that to me. On the weekends I'll use our own coffee maker, but it grinds the beans first and then brews it. Its probably my favorite, but we don't use it too often, mainly because I don't make a pot just for me and my wife doesn't drink coffee if she has to work that night.
Anyone use a french press?

No french press, but I grind my own beans at home. I drink a lot of coffee. Around 30-40 ounces a day.

I looked into buying some roaster equipment...for five minutes...then I realized I have no idea what I would be doing.

French press is the way to go. The quality of the final product is better and it's no more or less time consuming.

We have a K cup thingy in my dept. but I stay away from it - I'm not interested in drinking coffee that is commensurate to running stagnant pond water through a plastic cylinder.

Hey guys. I appreciate you taking the time to open my thread. I'm not a coffee snob by any means. I'm thinking of buying K-cups and bringing them to work. I forgot to mention my niece gave my wife and I her Starbucks coffee machine, that takes the starbucks K-cups (but they are different) I'm not sure I like it, it never fills up a whole cup. No wonder they failed, they only made about 6 oz a time.

Turtleneck - I sliced a finger last week with a knife, so I'm out of the golfing for a little bit. Plus its around 92 and 110% humidity, so I'm not golfing as often now.

Use to think the same. Hit a drive-thru Starbucks most mornings on the way to work and always got a venti dark roast. One warm and humid morning last summer I started wondering why I was buying hot coffee. Decided to try their cold brew. It was fucking great...very refreshing. Ordered it a few days later but they didn't have any. Tried their iced doubleshot. Was just as good as the cold brew.

Ended up trying iced coffee drinks at Tim Hortons and McDonalds...they both suck.

Have a couple Bunn's at work. The only coffee there is Maxwell House...fucking awful. It is amazing how much shitty coffee flavor is in one of those packets, which contain very little coffee. Have brought beans and a grinder to work and it takes at least 5 times as much coffee as one of the packets for the coffee to not taste weak. The taste is better than MH but not much. Usually has a bitter taste that I have not experienced with my home coffee maker. Only thing makes sense is it is something about the Bunn.

Have a single cup Keurig I'm thinking about bringing to work. Much better than the Bunn but not that great either. Might look into a French press
