July 4th Plans?

what are you guys up to for the 4th?

if it's okay with some of the people here who seem to have a problem with things I say and do, I'm heading out this afternoon to spend time in the great state of North Carolina - in and around the Asheville area. Gonna get in some cycling, drinking.. hit up a show or two at either The Orange Peel or the Grey Eagle.. possibly Jack of the Wood..

Also, I don't really have any specific plans beyond the same ole bbq my parents host each year.

Buy some fireworks, burn down the neighborhood. The usual.

I don't think there's a single person here who has any problem with what you do. It's a free country. I also don't think anyone has a problem with others seeing through what you do. It's a free country.

One of my favorite drives is Denver to Aspen. Show them Independence Pass, Continental Divide, and some gorgeous views. Just make sure the person driving agrees to never take their eyes off the road, not even to grab a quick look at the steep drop. It's been a couple of years, but I think it's about a ~3 hour drive, give or take 30 minutes.

I am not worried

I'm playing and singing at a wedding in a couple weeks, so I need to practice. My lady will be out of town. So that, smoke some weed, drink a little, maybe play some vidya games. Masturbate. All in all a good weekend.

I've got some friends who have done quite a bit of busking around the country (and parts of Europe) and they tell me that when the tips are running low, the just crank up Wagon Wheel.

Just out of curiosity, how many of you non-retired guys are working today? It's great when the 4th falls on Tuesday, if you ask me, probably the best day it can it fall it.

Half of the county is off today, but I'm here. Hopefully a nice and slow day.

TBH, I did a couple of hours of db maintenance from home and already went in on Saturday to finish month-end work, generate invoices, etc. Not a total vacation weekend but no complaints.

I'm workin but there won't be too much to do so I'll actually just watch tv and have a laptop open next to me. Never take these days off, let the suckers have it. Take days when you're actually going to be orherwise working.
