Golden Harvest for breakfast
Went last week.
It was good. Not sure it was waiting in line for an hour good though.

it's a decent enough place but I think I've been there exactly twice. They've managed to create some sort of following that make me people want to stand around outside waiting to eat. Which is good for them, I guess.NigelUno wrote:Went last week.

If I go again, it will be very early. I love me some good breakfast, but I'm not waiting in line for an hour.

my breakfast go-to in the area is the Fleetwood. Hard to beat that place.NigelUno wrote:Robert J Sakimano wrote:it's a decent enough place but I think I've been there exactly twice. Rather than fight the crowds up north, Nigel elects to holiday in Lansing... But still has to wait in liner for breakfast

nothing beats a good breakfast Up North. Plus, it looks simply marvelous when you're documenting it on social media. Maybe in a the approving glow of a lakeside sunrise... or in the smiling shadows of many of our lighthouses.Triple Sparty wrote:Rather than fight the crowds up north, Nigel elects to holiday in Lansing... It's got good grub, but they've crossed into the category of trying too hard to be the anti-cool place. Attitude is everything and their's starting sucking a few years ago.

I actually had breakfast in Elk Rapids one day. No line.
Spent the "holiday" on Torch Lake. Not that crowded. Tons of State Cops there.

I honestly have no idea where Mio is located.
Had coffee for breakfast one day, then took a boat ride across the lake to Butch's and beyond into Clam Lake. Made a stop in Alden on the way back.
No lines, other than the line to get a boat in the water in Alden.

Wouldn't it be great if Nigel choked on his morning breakfast and puked on the customer next to him. The the ELPD would arrest him for assault and battery. then a blacks lives matters arrestee could curb stomp him in jail.

I briefly waited at Short's for dinner one night. Not really a line. Grabbed some beers at the bar, and the table was ready pronto.

And I don't think Cedar Street is the "location of choice" to start bad-mouthing the Black Lives Matter movement.

First time I ate there, my table was between the then-mayor of Lansing on my right and a guy with full arm and neck tats and a pierced cheek on my left. It's actually what I've loved about the place--everyone eats there. As I've gotten older, what I don't love is waiting in line for food--any food, even as good as GH. The self-important attitude is forgivable because of the menu. But, thanks for being the guy who doesn't live anywhere near here telling the world the likes and dislikes of people you don't know.

I'm not much of a traditional breakfast eater.. usually more of an energy-bar-with-some-Greek-yogurt kind of dude.. so when I do end up at Fleetwood for "breakfast", it's usually after a good workout and is more of a lunch than anything. With a solid nap to follow.tGreenWay wrote:Blanch32 wrote:

That was a pretty short break. You're still trying too hard though.
Go back to your trying to get people banned angle. That might still have legs.

So you are like too cool to go to eat breakfast in Lansing?
Kind of like how you live in the middle of Michigan but are too cool to go to a lake.

Yeah I drive by there every other day. I have never eaten breakfast there but maybe I will stop by sometime for "breakfast" after a good morning workout.
South Cedar street is a bit too mainstream for me before noon.

Never went - kinda regret it. Was always a hannah's plaza guy. Didn't wake up early enough and there was no way I was waiting my hungover ass in a line for a few hours. Also went to a place that was very old school in a barn looking building outside of EL. Can't think of the name of it. Solid food. Was it in Holt or am I way off?
