The parties have really flipped on the whole patriotism thing. I would have called bullshit if you told me this was a speech at the DNC just four years ago.

in all honesty, the modern Republican party, especially from 2000 forward, has really developed a contempt for America. For a long time they hid behind the flag-waving, etc - it was so transparent to those of us who dared to pay attention. It's all very clear now as their hatred for America and American values has finally bubbled to the surface.Watch Out Pylon! wrote:Robert J Sakimano wrote:the same party that is now demonizing the Khan family whose son - an American - died fighting in Iraq?

but, you're correct, the differences in both conventions highlighted the immense differences in the parties. The RNC was a circus of paranoia, fear and hate.. the DNC was highlighted with American greatness, faith in America and democracy and an appreciation of America that was unparalleled the week before in Cleveland.

Sorry, but Mr Khan did NOTHING. His SON did EVERYTHING.
Mr Khan is another anti American hating immigrant who profits off off bringing in Muslims into this country and who believes in Sahria law.
Basically, he's a piece of shit.

Joe was never a plumber. He did plumbing as a handyman with some plumbing tools in his truck.
Joe wasn’t even on track to be a plumber as an apprentice. He was a GOP plant. A verbal bomb thrower trying to get the front running Senator Obama in a “gotcha” moment.
The POS Republicans love to portray themselves as the fiscally responsible Everyman Party. Nothing could be further from the truth.
