Yes. Obv kidding with you. Thought it was pretty neat. Almost strangled my boy 3x while we were waiting in line to get on. Cool day on Belle Isle, though. Never really did much there before today other than go to weddings at the Yacht Club and witness zippy split his pants.

I have a soft spot for history and shit like that. Maybe I'll watch a WW2 doc here in a minute. Can't go out, saving up for next weekend. My dad and oldest brother would have enjoyed it too. Trying to get tickets for all of us for UofM @ Spartan Stadium for a little family homecoming.

Think my friend has a fly and my other buddy is going to use a spin reel or whatever.

Not sure yet - looking into Vasquez Ridge, Chicago Lakes, Buffalo, Guanella Pass. Have a ton of options written down, just really need to pick one. Any suggestions?

I really suggest buying a tent over a hammock, OTPT. I get the allure, and have plenty of friends who've tried the hammock route. If it rains, prepare to nap a lot, no games of cards. Gives you plenty of time to smoke, though.

Also, for mountain trout, I really suggest getting something as light as possible. Smallest reel, low weight (preferably telescopic if you're backpacking) and 2-4lbs test at most. Smallest spinners you can find. I always brought wax worms, though. I like to bobber fish on mountain lakes.

You probably already know this but just a lil more advice if you haven't thought about it.

Bear poop doesn't have fingers to text. Also, the Bears say thank you for eating trout before they eat you. Saves them extra work and adds. Great flavor to you.

Now that we are going to a dispersed camping spot rather than backpacking the majority of the way, I'm thinking I may go tent as well. Gives us an out and a roof.

Will take the fishing tips, thank you sir. My two roommates will be doing most of the fishing as I chill and take it all in.

I know a guy that swears by hammocks, but when I tried one and it rained a lot of the the time, it got boring. On the rainy trips where I had a two or three person tent, at least everyone could hang out inside and play cards and smoke weed. I guess you could still smoke weed in a hammock.

Jealous too - we always did a trip up there at the start of summer and then the week before school - usually stayed at the Moraine Park campground just inside RMNP near Estes. You're right by the meadow and can walk to streams to fish, or hike out to lakes, just beautiful.

I suck at fishing but my boy loves it, so we go a lot. Never got the hang of fly fishing though, should have taken lessons. Have fun man.
