Why are they even bothering to prewrite an article? The debate is going to end at like 11. Does it really matter if you get it up at 11:01 or midnight? And if you do want to prewrite it, why bring it any further than being a word doc? I'm sure you can copy paste it in there within 5 minutes

Substantively, Pence seems to have won - there is no scorecard so whatever - the debate. Pence articulated a more informed foreign policy than Trump's random collection of words he calls foreign policy.

Kaine has been playing the role of attack dog to a fault. I guess the advantage is that Pence has not offered much a rebuff to Kaine's attacks, and Pence is going to look odd in future Clinton ads saying "Donald Trump never said X" followed by Trump saying X.

Pence mirrored Scott Walker.

He showed a remarkable ability to seem oblivious to what facts were said about his running mate at the top of the ticket while looking the part of a statesman.

But Pence isn't dumb. He knows he wasn't Trump's first choice and he can read polling. There is a chance he will be the next VP but a bigger chance he can be at the top of the 2020 ticket. A lot of major donors who have avoided Trump or donated covertly while not endorsing really like Pence.

Kaine was running to be VP. While he'll never admit to anything (like we saw last night), Pence began his 2020 campaign to be at the top of the 2020 ticket last night.

I'm sure the mainstream media will chalk this one up for Trump's Deputy Grand Wizard..

The American Spectator could have wriiten their declaration of victory ahead of time as well.

They never utter a discouraging word about any person they identify as conservative

I did not click on those links, but Pence - putting his politics aside - looked much better in the debate. VP debates do not matter all that much. Maybe this year proves to be an anomaly because Clinton and Trump are so disliked. Either way, it was interesting to see Pence better prepared and more knowledgeable than the person at the top of the ticket. Kaine came away looking amateurish and nowhere in Clinton's league, while Pence looked professional and better prepared to lead than Trump. It makes you wonder about Pence's long game.

yeah - I didn't watch it (obviously) - but I just dig the mainstream media fawning over Pence.. especially in light of the yahoo republicans who think the mean ''ol liberal mainstream media is out to get them.

I'm shocked, appalled, and dismayed.

Debates just dont have that big an impact on elections as people try to make them out to be.

If you dont have much of a problem with the corruption and status quo and are scared of change, you will vote Hilary. saw some "fact checking" clips this morning that outlined all of Pence's lies.. makes perfect sense that he's attracted to someone like Trump.

Some people were predicting a cake walk for Trump if his opponent was Clinton. I cannot remember who, but I heard it from somebody.

This morning, Pence called Trump and told him he had to handle the next 48 hours alone. He didn't think he'd be an effective surrogate.

In every US Presidential election since 1932 when every large US city started using lever type machines it hard to imagine a scenario where a write in candidate could win until now.

Today, Oct 8 HRC's biggest advantage is her high negatives are still lower than Trump's and that could be wiped out with a new name at the top of the ticket. It would be ironic that a woman like Hillary Clinton who has probably been aiming for a Presidential run before she married finally wins the nomination and would lose to a 11th hour write in.

Pence is playing a dangerous game. If he would "step up" and lose he would be seen as an opportunist by some in the GOP for accepting Trump's offer and he might lose Trump's biggest supporters who would still vote for Trump. Like the Bernie of Bust crowd.

I think this is the opportunity Paul Ryan has been looking for. Run for President with as little time being under a microscope as possible.
