Re: The Socialist Muslim Added 156,000 Private Sector Jobs in November....
Why Reagan Cheesy?
Reagan's gains were financed by deficit spending that was large enough to increase taxes after they had been cut. Forget about that or an inconvenient fact?
Bush2 ended up losing more jobs with all the losses in his last two years cancelling out the first 6 years.
Were you one who claimed it would be impossible for the Obama administration to ever come verse an economy that would replace all the jobs lost in The Great Recession?
If the current numbers hold up Obama's job creation numbers will be very close to Reagan's 8 years but both will trail Bill Clinton.

Just numbers Goose. People are still looking and employers are offering fewer jobs at lower wages.
Earlier this week a GOP Congressman was quoted as citing a target that already exists. If Trump keeps job growth at the same levels as Obama has done it will be great since Obama started out in the midst of the biggest world wide economic slowdown since the Great Recession.
That fact can't be argued or nuanced.
I won't argue facts and won't question your nuances

If incoming President Trump has the same job creation numbers that President Obama's administration has seen that are close to Reagan's totals it will be impressive. If they exceed Clintns it will be incredible.

Don't get this stat, I guess because since I was 14 I've never been unemployed. But if you stop looking for work, then the government says you're not unemployed? Even if you're under the retirement age?

Exactly. And the workforce participation rate is the lowest it's been since 1978.
See in one of Bob's worn out tactics he tries to cast all criticism of Obama as racist or Islamophobia - there can be no legitimate criticism.
The pure fact is that the US economy adds somewhere around 225,00-250,000 people a MONTH to the workforce. So any month that you add fewer jobs than that you're falling behind, not gaining. Doesn't matter if you're a D or an R that's the fact.
So while it was obviously better that the economy added jobs rather than subtracted them the total number of unemployed Americans still went up. The unemployment rate that is historically low (U1) is that counting those still looking for work. The TOTAL unemployment rate (U6) on the other hand is historically high. The chart is here from the BLS:
HOUSEHOLD DATA
That's one of the major reasons wages have stagnated, if jobs were there and were paying more $$ people would come back into the labor force. Bob's original chart is truthful, it's just that there should be another big red horizontal line some where in the low 200,000 area. Any month the bar was below that we were losing ground - at that point it's not nearly as impressive. Not terrible, just historically low growth for an economy.
And the headline was that 15.6 million new jobs were added....looks great...except during the time frame referenced somewhere around 20 million people would have wanted to join the labor force....so we're short 5 million jobs.

Are the Republicans going to go Luddite?
Everyone with a clue knows manufacturing output is n increasing with less labor. It's no mystery that manufacturing wages are not increasing to keep pace.
One of the Carrier employees whose job was "saved said she was happy her job and $20-$25/hr job got her daughter a college degree but a science degree got her a job making a 3rd less than mom's factory job. My neighbor drove trucks for a little mover company for 23 year. After the company was bought and sold twice he got "right sized" . He went from $50k-&60K to driving Hilo @$14-13/hr with nearly non-existent benefits.
Don't cry about the lack of jobs when the people at the top are looking to cut and or offshore at every turn and no one wants to touch the mythological Free Market

Well there's a solution that seems to have worked well for the Dems - "everyone stfu".
Even the AP is saying basically what I was:
Overall, fewer than 60 percent of adults have jobs — 3 percentage points lower than when the Great Recession began in late 2007. In part, that trend reflects retirements by the nation's many baby boomers. But it also means hiring hasn't kept up with population growth. And seven years into the recovery, pay growth is still below healthy levels.
AP Link
Many of these trends — particularly the drop in the proportion of adults with jobs — emerged years before Obama took office. Trump's challenge will be to try to reverse them.
I've said in here for months that no matter who won they would probably need to deal with a recession, we're overdue for one. And probably the only reason we haven't had one is the slower growth. Hopefully we can have better growth then will be better able to weather a recession or we can get it out of the way early and then have a boom. It would be good for the country to have 3-5 years of a booming economy.

Re: The Socialist Muslim Added 156,000 Private Sector Jobs in November....
Most metrics suggest the U.S. economy has snapped back substantially since the recession. In November, the U.S. unemployment rate fell to 4.6 percent, a level not seen since August 2007. The economy has created an average of 180,000 jobs a month so far this year, far above what’s necessary to keep the unemployment rate stable.
But it’s often the quality, not the quantity, of the jobs that is in question.
Many Americans are still cobbling together a living with one or several part-time jobs. Overall, the number of people working part-time has risen 9.1 percent from 2002 to 2016, and now totals 26.4 million, according to government data cited by Golden. But the number of people doing “involuntary” part-time work — that is, people who would like to work full-time but can’t find such work — is up 44.6 percent from 2002, to 6.4 million Americans.

Now that Trump’s won, media suddenly notices that a lot of new jobs are crappy
The best news in September’s jobs report is that unemployment went upNow, the good news is that we got a little bit closer with the 156,000 jobs the economy added in September. But the even better news is that we’re a little bit further than we might have thought with the unemployment rate ticking up from 4.9 to 5.0 percent. That’s because it did so for the happy reason that so many more people had either found a job or were looking for one — another 444,000, to be exact.
U.S. economy added 161,000 jobs in October as unemployment rate dipped to 4.9 percentThe U.S. labor market continues to show signs of gradual strengthening, with newly released government data showing the economy added 161,000 jobs last month. Annual wage growth surged to levels not seen since the financial crisis, while the unemployment rate dipped to 4.9 percent in October from 5 percent the previous month…
The final piece of economic data released before the presidential election Tuesday, the jobs report showed an economy that is steadily emerging from the shadow of the Great Recession, though it is still below its pre-2008 strength.
What does the Washington Post have to say now?
Who gets hurt when part-time work becomes the new normal?

I would point out that what the Washington Post is saying here is absolutely true. But it’s tossed out there without noting that conservatives have been screaming about this all through the so called “Obama Recovery” with nary a mention of it in the major newspapers. It was all rah-rah, Thanks Obama when the listed unemployment rate fell, but wages were stagnant at best and good manufacturing jobs were continuing to evaporate while more and more people had “McJobs.”
It wouldn’t be so bad if the WaPo and other, similar outlets had just been consistent, but right now you are seeing a harbinger of what’s to come. With Obama in office all of the news was good… or at least spun to look as positive as possible. For the next four years at least you can expect to see headlines like the one linked above. Everything is terrible and there is nothing good upon the land as long as Trump is in charge.

Too bad wage growth continues to be a pox on economy.
Slow wage growth is a key sign of how far the U.S. economy remains from a full recovery.

I have been seeing similar data back to the Bush administration, especially about low wage service jobs. I am not sure why you and others reduce everything to partisan politics rather than looking at data objectively. In this case that would mean recognizing larger economic trends bigger than any presidential administration.
