Michigan students are smart. They don't want to watch awful football.

Just look at the schedule, who wants to sit through those games?
Michigan should have an alright record this year, but it's a boring schedule.

I love how they have to play in EL 2 years in a row. What kind of nitwit AD would agree to that?

Who's bright idea was it to get the CEO of Domino's Pizza to run the sports program?
Last time I had Domino's Pizza, now that's a story for the worst dump ever thread.

Well we just have to play at spartan stadium 30 more times in a row to even out the series. You know the wins they talk about from 1895? It's time for revenge.

Completely agree, and it's even funnier in the slow-motion version of the gif, but I couldn't find that one.

Does Hoke or Brandon go first?
I used to think Brandon would pull the plug on Hoke but beginning to believe Brandon will "resign to pursue other opportunities" and the next AD will be the one to name a new football coach.

The idea that either of those two might leave makes me sad....hell, Brady might be my third favorite coach in the B1G over the last 6-7 years. Rich Rod still has the #2 slot.

Brandon is secretly hoping he gets a head coaching job at a Pac10 school.

The failure of Hoke will all be on Brandon, that is his guy. I bet Hoke goes first, Brandon is a megalomaniac. They'll have to oust him.

This is the big question. It will come down to how quickly the new president wants to get involved in athletics.
If he comes in and fires Brandon, he'll have tied his legacy to the new AD being good, and ultimately the new football coach being good. Either way, it would at least bring optimism while it plays out.
The other side of the coin is that he stays out of it, and lets Brandon hire another coach, he's betting that Brandon will get it right this time. Brandon seems to have fallen out of favor with UM fans, they won't be patient. UM fans are starting to say the same things about DB that MSU fans were saying years ago.

I really see their new president coming in with a more hands-off approach to athletics. He has never been at a school with a strong athletics program and has been a pure academic himself. He was at Cal for a while, but they kind of suck all-around. He'll probably leave it to the "professionals" for at least his first year while he gets situated, which will probably give Brandon enough time to cozy up to Schlissel and place on the blame on Hoke. If he manages to do that and fire Hoke at the end of the season, we get to see Brandon try to hire another coach. I'm excited about that idea.

I have no doubt Schlissel is a brilliant man, but from a purely athletics prospective it would seem to be a worse hire than DiBiaggio.
Maybe that is the plan from their Board of Regents - to control athletics directly. From an MSU perspective it seems the "win" just keeps happening.

What will Brandon's next PR/marketing disaster be?
A mascot?

I was just about to bring up prices. $300 for a student ticket is absolutely ridiculous (not to mention the most expensive in the B10). That's almost as much as regular season tickets at MSU. With the number of people they cram into that Big Hole, you'd think they could cut back on the student prices a bit, but I guess not.
They're Michigan, fergodssakes, right?

They can't cut back the prices. It would eat into their skywriting budget.SpartanGuard wrote:I was just about to bring up prices. $300 for a student ticket is absolutely ridiculous (not to mention the most expensive in the B10). Bad team with a coach that's about to get canned and a crap schedule. Can't say it's shocking.
