Pretty sure all of the freshmen had improved before the game last night.
Also pretty sure I've been consistent in saying this team will make the Tournament.
But...your Chicken Little routine is great!
If you said we would win when down 13 at half I would be impressed.
He didnt.

Not a Nigel fan, but you saying this stuff about someone else is pretty ironic.

I wish We'd all ignore him. But it's hard to. He's more ironic than any poster I know, and I believe he's blissfully ignorant about how hypocritical he is, or he just doesn't care.

Again...I have consistently said this team will make the Tournament.
I can see how your in-game posts, when we are losing and you pull your Chicken Little routine is high quality analysis though. Good job.

Sorry but A blowar predicting MSU will make the tourney when they have made it 19 straight times isn't very insightful

Tum Tum was a big part of the win last night. But according to my research that 13 points tied his career high and is only the 4th time in his career he hit double digits. It would be great if he could keep it up from last night but unfortunately the trend shows that performance will be an anomoly. He has a career 2.7 ppg average shooting 37% fg and 48% ft in 20 minutes a game.
The more concerning issue might be hoping Winston's game was the anomoly. I was worried about his razzle dazzle play and lack of athleticism but last night was his first bad game in a long time. The team seemed to have already moved on to Winston playing 30+ minutes and Tum Tum down to 10.
You see how this is done?

Re: MSU Minny Game Thread
The thing that stood out to me at half was that it was all the upper classmen who started. I think Izzo put them in to see if they could spark anything, and they did. Maybe there were foul issues for that, but I think they responded. Do I think they're the answer, no, but if they can come in and compliment a mixture of the freshmen and upper classmen, that might be the answer until Bridges comes back.Herbie Green wrote:NigelUno wrote:That Nairn kid played OK.

Gee...if it was that easy...you would have predicted it also?
Those 2 things can be independent of each other, as evidenced by the people who didn't think MSU would make the Tournament.
But...again...your in-game (and general) Chicken Little routine is very insightful...
And...is your insight that MSU won't make the Tournament?

I guess it's a good thing that the team didn't move on to 10 minutes for Tum Tum, because his defense (and some offense) helped us win the game last night.
Did you watch?
Do you have some "research" for this 10 minute figure? Or is that kind of made up? When did the team "move on"? Good thing we didn't really "move on" though, right?

I don't know. Maybe you could read my post that you quoted and try to figure it out. Do you think that 13 point game is the trend? Would you like me to post his game logs from the subsequent games the last two times he scored 13 points in a game if you can't get the picture?

Re: MSU Minny Game Thread
I'm ready to give Tum the green light. His form has never been terrible and now that he's (relatively) healthy and practicing and playing regularly, I think he just needs confidence. If he can make 30% from deep it would dynamically change our offense. And I back playing Tum and Winston together.
If AE3's minutes are going to eat into anyone's PT, at this point it should be McQuaid. McQuaid will provide something for us at some point in time, but he's really slumping on offense right now. Did have some good clutch D last night.

Winston just started his first game the game before and played 30 minutes and Tum Tum played 11. Winston's minutes had been trending up and I don't think Izzo was putting him in the starting lineup temporarily. He was giving him the keys.
Look I actually like TUm Tum and we are still going to need him for 10-15 minutes a game so I hope he can play decent. Even better if he could consistently score like that. But the trend says he won't. He had exactly zero points the previous two games.
Why do I even havr to explain this stuff? Don't you actually watch the games? Then again you were also a Maxwell guy.

So, it's possible he didn't play much against Oakland because he was hurt?
