As evidenced by the fact that I am flying to the Midwest and am therefore on a plane with a bunch of obese people and when they announced "if you need a little more time to board you're welcome to come up now" and a bunch of them got up and boarded.

I was a little overweight for a few years and it was rough on my body. I can't imagine what somebody who's 3 bills at 5'11 must feel every time they move. It's fascinating in a morbid way.

Not trying to fat shame. It's just amazing how every time I return to the Midwest there is such a huge proportion of obese people.

I always ask for an aisle seat. I only carry on one bag that can fit under the seat. I agree with you, boarding last is best.

The highest obesity rates are BY FAR in the South anyway. Michigan and Indiana are highest at 10 & 11 in the country.

Years ago I flew a commuter 2 engine prop from Bristol Conn to LaGuardia (when ESPN was 3-4 warehouse looking buildings not a "campus") in high wind Noreaster.

We had several big people, ike 300# plus, as fellow passengers. Two were a couple and the woman was mad because the pilot came back and started moving people around to equalize the weight on both sides of the plane.

I used to enjoy flying but now its Greyhound in the sky and the airlines have narrowed the seats from 32-33 to 31" wide with some ordering planes with 28" seats.

I'm 6'3" 210# and don't like the spillover from some fat person where they give me "the look" because I am trying to lower the arm rest between us. If you can't swing business class flying is only going to get worse.
