Son has been accepted to MSU for Spring, waitlisted for Fall
So, I'm pumped that he'll be a Spartan at some point, but am wondering how likely it is that he'll make the Fall cut. Obviously it's a numbers game, and MSU has to see how many of the kids they've accepted choose to go elsewhere.
He says they told him to expect an answer in April.

That's pretty freaking great. Congratulations on directing your kid down a righteous path. Give yourself a blowjob, dad, you've earned it.

Thanks man. He's the oldest of 5 boys, so good to get the next 12 years or so started off the right way.

Congrats! Have him show up for Fall classes and mention that you know WBH, the wait listing will disappear.

I've had neighbors who got wait listed for fall with no mention of 2nd term acceptance. 2 ended up starting Summer term and got 3 months rent for the price of a month in the University Village complex. Small class size and knew a helluva lot more about campus and a off camps spots than their Fall freshmen counterparts.

Thanks, this is why I asked. I'm hopeful that he'll be in for this fall, but was curious if anyone else had experienced this.

Re: Son has been accepted to MSU for Spring, waitlisted for Fall
Daughter was accepted and her hs boyfriend was wait listed. He was actually at our house when he got a call in June wanting to know if he wanted in for the fall. The guy said he needed to know by end of business that day. It was like 2 o'clock. Kid was frantically calling mom and dad. When kids who were accepted decide to go elsewhere I think there's pressure to fill the rolls. I bet he gets a call in a month or so.

Clearly your bribe to admssions office wasn't sufficient to keep him on the wait list.

Could be a lot worse, luckily only had 2 to pay out of state for, not 5DWags wrote:Hurricane Izzo wrote:So, I'm pumped that he'll be a Spartan at some point, but am wondering how likely it is that he'll make the Fall cut.
