Goodbye Joe Louis!
While it's not the last game, the hubby and I are at the wings game for their last week at the Joe. Kind of going to miss it. But I'm looking forward to the new arena.
And to attention whore it up....I attached our pic.

Wearing that jersey to hide your enhanced assets has the natives restless.

I love my jersey though. The other added benefit is it hides that I look ridiculously pregnant.

Have fun. Wanted to take the kid to one last game there but not gonna happen. Will miss the place. It's a dump, but it's our dump.

I went in March of 2015 while I was working in Waterford for Dunham's. It was the day Trice went off against Virginia to get them to the Sweet 16. They beat the Blues 2-1 in OT, and I got to meet Chelios and get his autograph on a book.
I'm not sure I have the book anymore.
Honestly not a bad seat in the house. Looking forward to LCA though.

Yea, it's a dump for sure. I hope the new stadium has room to place your drink in front of you and not trip over everyone.
We would have gone to several games this season, but I'm still paying off our Australia vacation. I figured we had to go to one. Got the tickets a month ago for $93/piece. Earlier today in that section they were listed at $150.

Re: Goodbye Joe Louis!
I liked the Joe of even this season compared to the arena Mike Illitch bought as part of the deal when he purchased the team.
I didn't realize how many corners were cut when Norris built it until I went to one of the first games of its inaugural season. Illitch probably put $2-$3 million into the place in the first season adding more stalls and troughs in the rest rooms, painting the bare cinder block and at least another million when they built out concession and gift shops.
Joe Louis was never state of the art but the Norris needed a new arena and they got one as cheaply as possible.
The new place is going to be what we hoped Joe Louis would be since the owners are relatively flush with cash and care about Detroit a helluva lot more than the Norris family ever did.

Daughter went to the Tampa game last week. Did her best Carol Merrill/Vanna White impersonation in front of the Ren Cen before the game. Back in Miami as of yesterday before ~9 months on the boat

It was a good game to go to! The crowd was really into it.
And I strained my abdominal muscles cheering at the end. I think the kid liked the game though. She was kicking the fuck out of me most of the game.
