Par for '17/'18 Hoops Season*
We are all sky high right now with a few exceptions. But are we expecting too much? A team of mostly sophomores to lead us to a Natty?
Where do you put par for next year in terms of Tourney success?
My initial thought was FF would be par. But is that fair? I think we are spoiled enough as a fan base that FF seems like the minimum we should accomplish with a team with this kind of talent.
I think it's fair. I mean I need to see how the season goes - it's possible the chemistry could bomb, Miles' head could get big, he could fight for touches with 44, Jackson can't play defense, etc. But if you were to ask me right now if I could lock in a FF and a loss in one of the semifinals I'd press my luck, so I'm going with par is making it to San Antonio.
*assuming no major injuries

Anything short of an undefeated season, I will be calling to scrap the program.

Honestly let's be real. Izzo needs a second title and choke Payne senior year and Denzel's senior year. Should have won one of those.
Anything other than a national title will be viewed as a disappointment.

Yes, but who cares about another FF? Izzo has 7 of them. Only 1 title. Another FF without a title would be depressing as all shit. That's where we are at as a program.
Imagine getting to the FF with THIS team and not winning it. Jackson just declared for UNC making MSU the favorites.

You have zero perspective, so that's cool. Winning it all is extremely tough to do. Putting the expectations of a NC on a team that lost in the second round is a bit disingenuous. The only place I'd expect to see an argument like yours is from a rival who wants to preemptively discount what could be a great year.Yes, but who cares about another FF? Izzo has 7 of them. Win the B1G, both regular season and tourney, and get a 1 seed. Anything can happen in the tournament, but I'd be lying if I said right here right now that I'd be satisfied with anything less than #2 for Izzo.

This could throw a wrench in our works.....

Arizona is returning 3 of the top 4 scorers from a 32-win team and enrolling a top-3 class. Here’s how rare that is:
Zona's plan to pair top recruits and a solid returning corps won titles for UK, Duke

Why don't you do the research and report on the class composition and relative contribution of the previous NC teams instead of just spewing?

Their coach is still Sean Miller, right?
Yeah, I'm not too worried about Arizona ending our season.

Caleb Swanigan is staying in the NBA Draft, and I think he’ll turn into a really, really good NBA player. Purdue still a top-25 team, IMO.

For Michigan State's ballyhooed 2016 class, the novelty is gone, but the expectations remain http://bit.ly/2sLw4ej #Spartans
