Probably more blue collar. Hard working, humble, doesn't really brag about where it is nationally. Try to stay out of trouble, but if there is trouble, owns up to it and tries to learn from its mistakes. Definitely doesn't try to be a leader and the best, or a squeaky clean catholic school. Mostly though, outside the midwest, I don't think anyone gives a shit one way or another.

1. "Hard working" - three decades after graduating from MSU, I can't say that I've found my fellow Spartans any more or less hard working than others. Interestingly, I serve on the Advisory Board for WMU's supply chain program, and they openly describe MSU grads as having an elite/arrogant attitude.

2. "Humble" - I wouldn't describe MD as very humble over the past few years. Not saying I didn't enjoy his barbs at other schools, because we Spartans have had so few occasions to hold our noses up at other schools. It was fun while it lasted, but we weren't humble. (NOW we've been humbled.)

3. "Tried to stay out of trouble" - certainly haven't done too well in this area, historically. Probation in how many of the past 5 decades?

But I agree with your last sentence, outside of the midwest no one gives a shit how MSU "projects" itself. They were starting to say nice things about Dantonio, but that's dead now too.

Vlad is the lead shit bird around here and was the same on the corporate board before they tired of his attitude.

When things are going well Vlad disappears but at the first hint of a negative story or an MSU loss he's posting.

4* player was offered by most of the Big Ten and several SEC teams. MSU was joined by ND and OSU keeping their offers open after LOI day and Robertson's legal issues were being addressed.

Dantonio and MSU continued the counseling program that Robertson started in Fort Wayne. Robertson didn't follow what had been told to him in months of counseling.

If the uber critics treated their families or ran a business the sterile, souless way they expect Dantonio to run a football program none of their children would ever measure up and employees would escape as soon as another offer came along.

Make no mistake about it, Vlad IS enjoying the meltdown of MSU football. It's is especially gratifying for him that the sexual assault issues are the root because now he can play of the Coach D recruits high character kids schtick.
