O.K., is this what we want? Merkel: "Europe will have to go it alone"

Souds like Europe knows it's them vs. Russia as far as NATO goes. I'm not going to pretend that I'm some kind of foreign policy wonk and can think of how business/trade/politics/security in Europe will be effected by the U.S. taking such a stand. Like most of what Trump has done so far, I don't quite get the big picture of what he's doing for the American People here. It seems we're making it easier for Russia to do what they want over there. Am I full of shit as usual?

Lacking the U.S. support, Europe is rallying the troops to go it alone.

But Trump proclaimed the 'Trip was a great success for America'.

Candidate Trump said he admired Putin as a stong leader.

President Trump tweets that all bad news including the most recent reports about Jared Kushner are "Fake News".

Russian citizens are used to every piece of news not complimentary to Putin being Fake News. Happens so much in Russia no one knows what's real anymore.

Now we see Trump going after Germany and Merkle thinking the US participation in NATO isn't solid. Weakening NATO has been a long term aim of Putin and Russia.

What do we need to throw in to trade Presidents with the Frenchies?

Putin needs to chill the F out. His viewpoint that the Ukraine is like an aircraft carrier parked at his doorstep is dumb. Ain't nobody going to invade Russia from the Ukraine or start flying sorties from their either.
