I don't think they put Nick in left, right is much more likely. Avila will be back up catcher

I forgot about Avila....you're probably right.

I thought Nick to LF because of his arm. What would be your or their reasoning for RF?

Generally your worst outfielder goes in right. Generally less ground to cover. Plus I'm no sure of minor league options but I'm not sure Upton opts out either. He's making good money that I don't think he gets elsewhere but he has been on a lot of bad baseball teams

There is some chatter that he will opt out because he can match the $$ and pick his team. We'll see.

If you wanted to be an optimist and he keeps pitching well you might pick up Anibal's option for SP depth.

Anibal is good depth if you can convince him to start the year in AAA. Upton yeah it's all going to depend on what he thinks he can make elsewhere.

In a perfect world you'd trade Victor and Iggy. Even if the return wasn't especially high you'd free close to $18M more off the payroll then you could move Miggy to DH and Casty to 1st. But I can't think of even the rosiest scenario where any team is going to pay VMart's salary so you might as well keep him for the last year if you're going to be paying him in any case. If you find enough kids to play you might just use VMart as a Gates Brown type late inning PH and go ahead with the Casty/Miggy moves.

Two weeks ago, they traded one of the best power hitters in baseball. Four days ago, they traded their closer and a crucial clubhouse presence. And here they were on Friday night, with the music once again playing inside the visitor’s clubhouse, celebrating their fourth straight win.

This win came in comeback fashion, the most dramatic of the bunch, when Justin Upton crushed a grand slam in the top of the eighth inning to beat the Baltimore Orioles, 5-2, at Oriole Park at Camden Yards.

The Tigers’ recent surge has come against teams in the American League postseason race: The Astros, Yankees and now Orioles. With the win, it now needs to be noted they are five games back of the league’s second Wild-Card spot.

Asked if it was the best the clubhouse had felt all season, Verlander said yes.

“It’s more fun when you’re winning,” he said.

Asked if this team – post-trade deadline – had the players to make a run, he said, “I’m not going to turn my back on it, that’s for damn sure.”

But of course, the 2016 season happened and he has to gauge how much that will matter to clubs as they consider him this offseason. Upton has to beat four years and $88 million, but he doesn’t get to shop around before making the decision like if he were considering a qualifying offer. Last winter, Yoenis Cespedes got four years and $110 million, but Cespedes is almost two years older and was coming off a slightly worse platform season. Dexter Fowler got five years and $82 million even though he’s a year and a half older and also had a worse platform season than Upton is having right now. Ian Desmond, also two years older, received five years and $70 million, although his profile is quite a bit different.
