great band.. unfortunately, no longer together. But Brian Fallon has done some good stuff with The Horrible Crowes and his recent solo record is quite good.

yep - great band.. one of my favorites, for sure, in the last 10-12 years. Been fortunate enough to see them a handful of times. The '59 Sound is one of my favorite records.. Brian's solo record, as I mentioned, is very good too.

He also produced Matthew Ryan's new record - which is worth listening to.

I have seen one model that makes it look like Jose and Maria do a little dance, before throwing Maria into FL and Jose swirling back down to hit NC. I'm going to get the name wrong but its something like the Fujiwhara effect.

Hit Cat 5 today and eye is right over Dominica, one of my favorite places I've ever visited. They had to emergency rescue the PM of Dominica after his roof blew off.

Irma redux. Lovely.

And yes I know Bob will offer his thoughts and prayers in the morning and Greenway and turtleneck will continue to make bad joke after bad joke. Placeholder.

Packing sustained Cat 5 winds of 175+ right now and headed straight for the VI and PR. I think the highest Irma got was 165. Current projected path has it veering North up the Atlantic and far away from the FL coast. InTen/Miami (oh and can't forget Nigel), do those projections hold accurate this far out? I know it can shift a bit based off of Irma but that was really the first one I followed closely and the projected path never really seemed to veer from the width of Florida's dong.

Irma was 185 for 36 hour or so, I think. Maria went from cat 1 to 5 on about 24-36 hours. We should be ok, but I'll feel better once it's north of us. Jose and Maria might go dancing. If Jose wasn't there, it's a bigger threat to Florida.

This storm could impact the NE coast. Wouldn't surprise me to see NC, VA, NJ, NY start to get close to the 5 day cone in a couple of days. Once Jose dissipates, the highs over teh US and Atlantic are supposed to bridge and push Maria west.
