My projected and hopeful starting lineup:

Jackson
Bradley
Johnson
Harris
Drummond

Stanley better show some fucking improvement, Drummond can stop being so soft, and Reggie please get healthy and learn to pass outside of to Drummond.

Regular Season opener at the new arena downtown (thank god, fuck auburn hills) is October 18 against Kemba and the hornets.

Just make the fucking playoffs. Preferrably 6 seed and up.

I don't think Johnson is far enough along yet and I think Reggie's injury is worse than we suspect.
That said I'm higher on Drummond than most Piston fans and think Harris is a hell of a player.

The NBA is this far above watching girls college basketball. You can go almost chalk with girls college basketball in the tournament. You are 95% sure who will win rarely there are upsets and we all can pretty much pick who will be in the semis right now. The regular season is as boring as women's NCAA too. Most games are meaningless. Great athletes? You bet. But how much of a chance do the pistons have?

I have zero problem with anybody watching great athletes do their thing. What ever gets you through the day. I guess it's just that I don't like the mystery being taken out of it. It's pretty much chalk for a good portion of it.

Put it this way: you must make one of these bets: would you bet 2k to win 250 dollars on the warriors winning the title, or would you bet 500 dollars to win 2k on the pistons winning it all?

I enjoy watching basketball being played at the highest level wags. It's pro sports - I'm far past the point of actually being emotionally invested in any one team. Do I root for the pistons? Sure. Do I really give a fuck? No. Basketball is my favorite sport is what it comes down to.

They are all in a position to help Green fight this suit and bleed the vampire lawyer to the point where it's costing her more than she'll ever see from a settlement.

No one outside of MSU football fans and his hometown knew about Edmundson before this mess. He's not some high profile plaintiff anyone besides the lawyer, his girlfriend and his mother cares about.

So anyway, NBA players are obviously some of the greatest athletes on the planet. I do like watching highlights of their athleticism. But I'm the type that needs to know four to eight teams have a legit chance to win it all to really be interested in following it day to day or at least somewhat regularly.
Are there four teams that can challenge the warriors? I know my bucks and also the pistons don't stand a snowballs chance.

Loooooook I wanted to ignore it but if you really want to get into a glorify the NCAA tournament because there's upsets while shitting on the NBA because there aren't then I think you're on a very precarious limb. Take a look at the NCAA tournament winners over a couple of decades and point out which is like "zomg." Villanova I guess. Who had been a strong team for a decade prior. Yeah, errrrrbody loves the upsets for the first two rounds. But after that? Same deal. Cream rises to the top.

I sure betcha the champ this year is gonna be one of Duke or unc or Kansas or msu or some other team ranked in the top ten to start out of 300+. See! It's so predictable. It's kinda the same deal wags if you look past the first two rounds when 3 of those top ten get knocked out.

The key is, it's not necessarily a bad thing. But the NCAA and the NBA aren't so different if you really dig in and get past the "a 12 beat a 5 omg" hype.

Note- I think every pro sport except probably the NFL (since it's the only way my team would make it ever) should shorten the playoffs to make the regular season actually mean something. In the other three (including baseball what with their 27 division champions and 14 wild card teams all making the fuckin playoffs at this point) the 6+ month regular season establishes nothing more than "your team does have a pulse. Nice." Who even gives a shit about division championships anymore? It's totally meaningless. 8 teams should make the NBA playoffs. Make making it at all mean something.

He's forcing a situation where you have to shit on the NCAA tourney, which is great, to prove his point. It's a terrible limb to climb on, like I said.

If the better team lost because of a one game situation, why is it better to then watch Syracuse get destroyed against (whichever team they lost to that year) in the semifinal?
