On Saturday October 7, the day the body of 25-year-old Army Sgt. La David Johnson was returned to Dover Air Force Base after he was killed in an ISIS ambush in Niger, President Donald Trump was golfing. It's not known if the President ever planned to attend the return of remains ceremony at Dover as he has in the past. But since the ambush on October 4 in Niger, he has not commented publicly on the deadliest combat incident involving US troops since he took office.

I'm not saying that either. This poor lady has 2 kids already and another one on the way. It looks like the soldier, Army Sgt La David Johnson, went through a program that changed his life for the better. He was a former Walmart employee and if he was from Miami Gardens, that isn't the greatest place to grow up in. Trump is an insensitive narcissistic fuck, so I'm pretty sure he said it. Unfortunately his base will eat it up, because by putting it this way, it helps to deligitimize the reason he was killed. Either way, I expect this poor family to soon take the brunt of fine Patriotic Republicans across the nation as they look to demonize them for making their spoiled child god look bad.

Here's the whole piece, which interestingly enough doesn't really say anything.

As many Democrats weaponize Gold Star families against the GOP, mainstream media outlets now seem to be approaching the families of dead soldiers one by one in an attempt to find the next controversy surrounding President Trump.

Earlier this week, Trump said former President Obama and past presidents didn’t always call the families of soldiers who died while serving the country during a Rose Garden press conference.

“The traditional way, if you look at President Obama and other presidents, most of them didn’t make calls, a lot of them didn’t make calls,” Trump said. “I like to call when it’s appropriate.”

These comments by Trump lit a fire under Democrats, both in the media and in Washington.

Gold Star widows and parents were all over the place on Wednesday, from CNN to The New York Times, mostly to criticize Trump. The Washington Post successfully found a Gold Star father who alleged that Trump didn’t come through on a $25,000 promise, while The Associated Press even tweeted a glorified classified ad with the hope of locating more Gold Star families willing to chat.

“Are you a member of a Gold Star family who’s had contact with the White House? Confidentially share your story here,” the AP tweeted.

Apparently the talking point today from Fox News is that the wife should be elated that the President took time out of his busy schedule to talk to her, and that she should be honored, even if he wasn't sure what her husbands name was, or if he was a little callous.

Lin June 2017 a USA Corporal Baldridge was shot and killed in Afghanistan by member of an Afghan police force. 2 other US soldiers were killed in the same incident.

A few weeks later President Trump called the deceased corporal’s father. The father reportedly told the President he was frustrated because the US military death benefit was going to his son’s ex-wife (son hadn’t changed the beneficiary after his divorce) .

President Trump then volunteered to send the father a check for $25K to help the father out with bills from the son’s final expenses. The check wasn’t sent until the news of Trump’s call to the widow got publicized and the father let reporters know about his call from the President.

My question is why doesn’t the President have someone on his staff to make sure stuff like he promises gets done? Trump has a history of making promises of donations and never following through.

Just to be clear- he’s 100% right that past presidents didn’t call every single soldier that died. I’m not sure how that even became a story- did he mention it in his press conference I think? I think that was it. That’d make sense as to how the calling dick measuring contest started up. The emotional weight of having to call multiple families who lost someone every single day at times during wars would be crushing to anyone. Or, they have to disassociate themselves and start saying dumb shit like “he knew what he signed up for.” Those presidents did spend a lot of time going to VA hospitals and such though. Something that I’m pretty sure president big boy hasn’t done.
