Do you like coriander (cilantro seed) as a seasoning?
I do not like cilantro at all. I once read an article that claimed a large percentage of people who do not like cilantro were actually experiencing some type of physical reaction to it. Not sure if the "study" was junk science or not, but count me as one of those people.

my lovely wife was making some sort of egg-related dish this morning when I got back form running.
I immediately thought of some of you egg-eating degenerates.

I'm not a fan of tomatoes, either - on a sandwich, etc - in fact, I usually leave them off (or pick them off in a restaurant) - however, I don't mind them on a pizza, in a dish (like salsa, of course), etc.Nordic wrote:Tomatoes. Because they are fucking gross.
otherwise, a tomato seems to hover in that hyper-plasmic area between a liquid and a solid where inherent qualities contained within it just aren't quite adequately developed.

Re: Foods you dislike, and why
I'm not crazy about Tomatoes straight. Or tomato juice/soup. But I love salsa, pico de gallo, extra sauce on my spaghetti, extra sauce on pizza, etc. I guess maybe I just need tomatoes to be mixed up with spices. In a pinch, with some salt, I could eat them straight, but I prefer not to. They don't gross me out like eggs do by any means, though.Floyd Robertson wrote:I can't even imagine trying to eat a burger or sammich without a nice thick slice of tomato.Nordic wrote:Tomatoes. While I like * cheese, I believe it starts out as a clear liquid before coloring and forming.

Re: Foods you dislike, and why
Cilantro and coriander supposedly have healing benefits. For example, cilantro is claimed to help rid the body of heavy metals like lead and mercury. Maybe that's junk science too, but claimed physical reactions could be due to the stuff actually working as a cleanser.Senior Dickfist wrote:The Pantry wrote:People seem to either love it or hate it. She did some philo dough (not sure if that's how you spell it) encrusted baked brie over the weekend. Had some sort of plum preserve with it - was pretty tasty on crackers.

There's a company in Benton Harbor that makes a pretty good brie. Old Europe cheese - Francios is the cheesemaker

Steve's post above is what is wrong with our food sourcing today. We've sanitized it down to a packaged food stuff. I bought a fresh turkey from a friend a few years ago. He would raise them from chicks in the spring and sell them for Thanksgiving. My siblings found out the morning of Thanksgiving that the turkey was locally sourced and refused to eat it. Unbelievable.
You do know everything is a chemical right?

I do like most things. And even if it's something that I don't care for, I will still eat it if someone else cooked it for me.
I hate green olives . I want so much to like them that I try them every year. Still tastes terrible to me.
Oh and cheesecake. It's because it's too much cream cheese . I like a little bit, but not a lot of cream cheese.

Walking into the office this morning and there was 1/2 of a hard boiled egg laying in the parking lot. Cut exactly in 1/2 along the long axis. Yolk missing. Very weird.
