The xxx-foot view started at about 25 feet, but inflation, and has been around for at least 50 years.

Deep dive is more recent, probably started in the 1990's or so.

"Best practices" can go diddle itself. Much of corporate speak is harmless, but that phrase is destructive - especially when it's used to cover for poorly-considered methods. People who use that phrase have stopped looking for better practices.
