Look I’m not going to make the obvious “man they sure are turning the heat up on Sean miller I hope he wore an undershirt joke.”
I’m not. It’s too easy. It’s below me.

Boy the FBi is playing this well. Leak out that shit this morning to get this investigation back on the radar and then for a nightcap they drop this.
Theyre gonna have arrests/indictments right as the tourney starts.
This might kill the ncaa and their bullshit administration of big time sports. I could see the power 5 saying fuck it and going their own way

If Miller is fired with cause, he still gets over $10 million.

I can understand a coach trying to bend the rules to gain top players. But to do something seriously illegal like this makes no sense to me. They really think they will never get caught? Prison is not worth a top 10 recruit.

Agreed, especially when those coaches who are actually being considered by a top 10 recruit probably already have a comfortable amount of money in the bank. Why risk prison if you have enough money to retire on if you begin losing and get canned? The first reason why that comes to mind is hubris. Another reason is the old chestnut; everybody’s doing it. Except not everybody is doing it and besides, there’s that whole pesky thing about it being illegal and all.

I think that was just a few guys doing a game (that thought they heard he was fired).
I don't think ESPN was running with the story. But, I could be wrong.
He will be fired eventually (or resign).

Agree. He's gone but just not yet. He's not even a very good coach, which is surprising -
That’s the point. He might very well be gone, but he’s not. ESPN got it wrong. But they just don’t care.

Very much this. Call me skeptical until I can hear the tape for myself and understand proper context. Not buying into these witch hunts anymore without facts.

Because we start slow on the road. Wiscy has been getting better and gaining confidence. I expect a close game. If we pull away I wouldn't expect it to happen until 2nd half. Seems like our team likes to sleep walk through first halves, especially on the road.

Historically WBH is right.....my get is that today they come out on fire, pissed and ready to exact revenge for Miles having his name sullied.

This. One of the beat writers said they were out there 90 minutes early running and shooting. They’re ready.

Shocking. It sounds like ESPN ran with info about Miller and wiretaps provided by DAWKINS DEFENSE TEAM. Check out the replies.

Seeing a similar pattern, Arizona fans are livid with ESPNs reporting. Also, ESPN made a big time error claiming Miller was stepping down during the game broadcast. Claim was completely inaccurate. As an outsider I only got the headline as well and thought it was true until this morning when I saw they had f’d up.
I agree with wbh let’s wait until the facts come out.

I thought Miller said he would be vindicated. I don't think he denied being on the tape though.
And Arizona was one of the original four schools named back in September which had assistants (Tony Bland of USC, Emanuel "Book" Richardson of Arizona, Lamont Evans of Oklahoma State and Chuck Person of Auburn) charged with various violations.
Will Miller have plausible deniability? We'll find out.

Yeah, we will definitely have to wait and see. Did ESPN ever hear the tape or have a transcript? Doesn’t look like they have.

Here's the original story:
http://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/22559284/sean-miller-arizona-christian-dawkins-discussed-payment-ensure-deandre-ayton-signing-according-fbi-investigation
FBI wiretaps intercepted telephone conversations between Arizona coach Sean Miller and Christian Dawkins, a key figure in the FBI's investigation into college basketball corruption, in which Miller discussed paying $100,000 to ensure star freshman Deandre Ayton signed with the Wildcats, sources familiar with the government's evidence told ESPN.
They reported there were conversations. They didn't report there were payments made.

Understood. Did ESPN hear the recording or have a transcript? Or are they just reporting on the existence of this recording? Important distinction. Also, are there any key details they left out?
